Electrical of Electronics Engineering
Electrical and Electronics Engineering has an enormous and widespread impact on our daily
lives. From power stations to electric vehicle charging, telecom networks to computing
infrastructures, electronic systems in our homes, the world of entertainment and industry: all are
created, designed and operated by Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Creating the technology and
systems of the future demands vision, technical expertise and business acumen. Electrical
Engineering equips graduates with all these skills and qualifies them to progress to rewarding
careers.
The department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in the year 2011,
with an annual intake of 60 students. The department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is
fully equipped with highly modernized laboratories and sophisticated equipments. The department is
headed by the Professor. It has Senior Professors and Associate Professors, who are experts in their
own disciplines. They aim for educating and training students with sound knowledge and awareness
in the latest trends of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
The students of the department are regularly exposed to the latest trends in the field of
Electrical and Electronics Engineering through regular industrial visits, guest lectures, conferences,
and workshops etc. Extra experiments are being conducted for all classes in addition to those
prescribed in the JNTU syllabus in order to give students a solid grasp of the subjects.
Association
A Technical Association named as Enrich Empower Educate Student
Association(EEESA) of EEE has been formed by the senior students of the department for the
benefit of all students to impart additional knowledge in the field of E&E Engineering apart from the
prescribed curriculum by organizing Guest lecturers (by Professors from IITs, NITs, BITs, IIITs,
Universities & Industries), Technical Quiz, Workshops such as Power Electronics & Applications,
Energy Auditing, Emerging technologies in Solar Power Generation, Circuit Design and Switchgear
Protection, contests for the students and also to develop their organizing capabilities.
Mission
M1: To nurture young individual into knowledge, skillful and ethical professionals in their pursuit of
knowledge.
M2: To promote academic growth by offering state of the art programmes for the students and
faculties.
M3: To develop human potential to its fullest extent so that intellectuals capable of being an asset to
the country can emerge.
M4: To nurture the faculty and expose them to world class infrastructure.
M6:To extensive partnership and collaborations with foreign universities for technology up
gradation.
Change
In addition to this, students and staff of EEE are very seriously involved in service to society
activities such as Swachh Bharat, Plantation of trees, teaching campaign on moral values, computer
education, communication skills, etc are conducted to the kids on regular basis in nearby orphanage.
Department is concentrating on overall development of the student and is able to move confidently
in achieving the goal with their teaching faculty, academic assistants and through technical
association.

With the ever growing demand of Electrical Engineers in all sectors, the EEE Department is
making best efforts to give the society highly knowledgeable, trained and capable engineers who
have hands on experience and would be ready to face challenges of the real world. Our Department
consists of various laboratories like Basic Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics and Drives and
Machines equipped with the new technological set ups giving the scope to all students having a
hands on experience individually, which will increase their confidence to face the practical problems
in the field of Electrical Engineering. The department conducts various programs under the
departmental association called as Electrical and Electronics Students Association (EEESA) such as
Workshops, Technical Training, Guest Lectures and Seminar by Experts from Industry and
Academic background for constant knowledge up-gradation of staff and students. This activity helps
to know the latest technologies, in the field of Electrical Engineering. Industrial visits are regularly
organized to improve the practical knowledge of the students and to have a interaction with the
industry people. To add to this, the department has extensive partnership and collaborations with
foreign universities for technology up gradation.
I am extremely happy to be associated with this department, one of the core and oldest
branch of Engineering that is and now including the applications of Electronics for controlling
Electrical Devices and renamed as Electrical and Electronics Engineering. I thank our management,
researchers, teachers, alumni and students for their continuous support and cooperation.
We continue to play a leading role in our discipline which leads us towards creating
innovative and effective professional graduate community which would vivacious and provide
continuous learning. I extend my warm wishes to all budding Electrical Engineers
For all the above Labs 12 Experiments need to be done as per JNTUH. We even make the students
to perform the 2 additional experiments in each Semester for gaining more knowledge towards the
subject.

The department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), GNIT organized one day Industrial
visit on 11th of July 2014 for B.Tech 3rd year Engineering students to the prestigious Research
Institute Central Power Research Institute (CPRI), Hyderabad , the power house of the Indian
electrical industry which was set up in 1960 by the Government of India and functions as a centre for
applied research in electrical power engineering assisting the electrical industry in product
development and quality assurance. CPRI also serves as an independent authority for testing and
certification of power equipment. . With its head office located at Bangalore, the Institute has six
state-of-the-art infra-structure facilities at Bhopal, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Noida, Kolkata and
Guwahati.
Students Opinion:
It was a great experience to visit CPRI,Hyderabad where we have learned so many new things in the
field of Electrical engineering. They are successful enough to balance between Theoretical and
Practical Subject.
-Asha Rani.
The journey to CPRI unfolded various aspect of the High Voltage Engineering and Testing division.
Starting from the Insulators, conductors, to the massive structure of Transformers which forms the
backbone of the Power System. The gains or the take away from the visit were splendid.

The Electrical and Electronics Department of GNIT has organized following programs to improve
the student skill set along with academic.
The camp was inaugurated by Prof. Prathsarathy Associate Director, GNITC along with the
Principal GNIT Dr S.Sreenatha Reddy, Vice-Principal GNIT Prof M.Narendra Kumar, NSS Co-
Ordinator & HOD-EEE Mr.Kuldeep Singh, & NSS student Co-Co Ordinator .
The camp was actively organized by the team of II B.Tech EEE students of GNIT.
To bridge the gap between industry and academics many value added courses are being conducted.
These courses build the self confidence in the student to face the challenges. The incubation centre
in GNI provides these types of facility to the students. The selected students are being trained in to
advance courses as per the requirement of industry. They are allowed to work in real time projects
during this course and are being paid stipend during this period.
NSS
National service scheme (NSS) in our college was initiated in the year 2009.It was inaugurated by
our former principal Dr.C.Venkata Ramana Reddy and headed by Ms.Bhavani.DLH, Asst.Prof till
2011. Since 2012 the cell is actively headed by Mr. Kuldeep Singh,HOD EEE.National Service
Scheme (NSS) is a noble experiment in academic expansion.
The main intension of NSS cell is to inculcate human values in the students. It inculcates the spirit of
NSS Volunteers to work among the students and teachers through sustained community interaction.
Our NSS cell had done a commendable service in Blind homes, Orphanages and Old -age homes.
They has been conducting regular activities like blood donation camps and plantation programs in
the campus.
