TITLE

A study to assess the effectiveness of partograph e-learning tool on student midwives


knowledge.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

A quasi-experimental study to assess the effectiveness of a partograph e-learning tool on


student midwives knowledge.

RESEARCH QUESTION

Whether the partograph e-learning tool will be effective for improving the knowledge of
student midwives.

PRIMARY HYPOTHESIS

H0: The partograph e- learning tool will not be effective for improving the student midwives
knowledge.

H1: The partograph e -learning tool will be effective for improving the knowledge of student
midwives.

SECONDARY HYPOTHESIS

H02 : There will be no significant association between the effectiveness of a partograph e-


learning tool with their selected demographic variables.

H2 : There will be a significant association between the effectiveness of a partograph e-learning


tool with their selected demographic variables.

ASSUMPTIONS

The partograph e learning tool may be effective for improving the knowledge of student
midwives.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

 To determine whether the use of an e-learning tool is beneficial for improving the knowledge
of student midwives.
SECONDARY OBJECTIVES

1. To assess the existing level of knowledge regarding the use of partograph among
student midwives.
2. To find out the association between the effectiveness of a partograph e-learning tool
with their selected demographic variables

METHODOLOGY

I)RESEARCH APPROACH- Quantitative research approach

II)TYPE OF RESEARCH DESIGN- Quasi-Experimental, One group pre-test and post test
design

III) STUDY SETTING - The study will be conducted in the selected nursing colleges of
metropolitan city.

IV) STUDY POPULATION- The student midwives.

TARGET POPULATION – The student midwives in the Metro Politian city

ACCESIBLE POPULATION – The student midwives that will available at the time of data
collection

V) SAMPLE – The student midwives who fulfil the inclusion criteria

VI) SAMPLING SIZE- 60

VII) SAMPLING TECHNIQUE-Non probability purposive sampling method

VIII)DURATION OF THE STUDY –

IX)METHOD OF SELECTION OF STUDY SUBJECTS:

Inclusion Criteria:

1. The student midwives studying in the nursing college.


2. The student midwives present during the study.
3. The student midwives, those who are willing to participate.
Exclusion Criteria:

1. The student midwives, those who are in pilot study.


2. The student midwives, those don’t understand English.

METHODS OF MEASUREMENT-

Tool- Semi structured questionnaire

Validity- The content and construct validity of research tool will be done by the experts in the
field obstetrics and gynaecological nursing department.

Reliability- The test retest method will be used to check reliability of the tool and calculated by
Karl Pearson’s formula.

Pilot study - Pilot study will be done on 10% of sample
