STUDY AND RESEARCH PLAN

1. Purpose of Study
Taiwan is one of the countries which took a serious concern in environmental health. It is proven
from many of research published in highlighting the prevalence number of hazardous effects such as
pneumoconiosis. Besides, Taiwan government are working advance in handling work-related diseases
using systematic regulation and program in which involved both national and international health
practitioner. By study in Taiwan especially in the field of international health will enlarge my
epidemiological and statistical analysis competencies to emerge work-related disease data such as
pneumoconiosis in Indonesia. That is important because of the accurate prevalence data of
pneumoconiosis in Indonesia still uncertain. Therefore, along with my study, I want to adapt the
system of data collection and the epidemiological method to generate the bottom line data of
pneumoconiosis. I would collaborate with the health practitioners in Taiwan and other international
expertise to help the diagnosed for pneumoconiosis. Also, I want to learn the system of maintaining
the prevention of work-related disease in the primary, secondary and tertiary stages.
2. Plans of Study
Lacking effective pneumoconiosis diagnosed method and data baseline are the factors that inhibit
the prevention of pneumoconiosis in Indonesia. Seeing this, I want to be expertise in the
epidemiological of environmental health and advancing in statistical implementation. Currently, I
work in the Center of Safety, Health, and Environmental Research. I have a focus on determining the
number of pneumoconiosis occurrence in Indonesia. I made the systematical analysis research based
on the published journal in the term of pneumoconiosis data in Indonesia. From that research, I want
to uncover the years of potential life lost to life expectancy and potential life lost before age 65 years
old. Continuing this, on my master's degree, I want to strengthen the research result by conducting a
systematic analysis review of pneumoconiosis in the South East Asia Region, to issue the prevalence
data, and to compare the best prevention program in each country in South East Asia.
3. Anticipated Result
In the making of proper public health program, data act as important factor as baseline in
conducting program in the community. After completion of my study in international health, it would
help me to assess pneumoconiosis occurrence data in Indonesia, South East Asia even in the larger
areas. By mastering epidemiological, biostatistics, qualitative research methodology and case studies
medical database design will expertise me in the analysis skill, so I can work for better research such
as a systematic review of pneumoconiosis. Additionally, by studying Comparative health care system,
social-cultural aspects of health and community health theory will strengthen my competencies in
determining and examining programs to help health practitioners in the prognosis and diagnosis of
pneumoconiosis. It also will support me in evaluating government programs that already establish in
each country to prevent pneumoconiosis. After fulfilled professional knowledge as an individual, I
will start to improve research in the C-SHER by resulting in highly accurate quantitative research to
always resulting the best method and achieve the best prevention of work-related diseases such as
pneumoconiosis.
