Hello everyone, welcome back to Unite Coaching. In this video we are go

So lets start with the video. But before starting the video, if you have not
As you can see here I have made the steps in excel.
The column is 230 mm wide and 750 mm deep.
The reinforcement provided is 4 bars of 20 mm diameter and 6 bars of 16
For your better understanding, the 16 mm diameter bars are shown by sm
So the first table you have to make is the designed data from structural d
The width of column is 230 mm, therefore I have entered the value of b a
Similarlry, the depth of column is 750 mm, so I have entered 750 mm as
The cover as per structural drawing was 40 mm.
No comes the important part.
Here, there are two different bar combinations are used as main longitud
The first bar is 20 mm diameter and there are 4 such bars.
So I have entered Dia of Main Bar Type 1 as 20 mm.
And No of Main Bar Type 1 as 4.
Similarly, as per drawing, you can see there are 6 bars of 16 mm diamet
So I have entered Dia of Main Bar Type 2 as 16 mm.
And No of Main Bar Type 1 as 6
The lateral ties used as per design are 8 mm diameter bars which are sp
So I have entered ties diameter as 8 mm and spacing as 150 mm c/c
No the different bend concepts are important.
There are three types of bends here
1st is the 90 degree bend, see in the diagram here, this bend is taken as
So there are these 3 bends and these, 1, 2, and 3 bends
So there are 6 bends of 90 degree here
This bend length needs to be deducted while calculating the cutting leng
See, here the capital D does not reflect the size of column, here the D is
Next is the 135 degree bend
See, there are two here and two here, so there are total 4 hooks of 135 d
This length is generallly taken as 10 D i.e. 10 times the diameter of bar.
So I have entered 4 here in number of 135 degree bend
The last type of bend in this column is 180 degree bend
See, this bend is known as 180 degree bend
This extra length is also added in calculating the cutting length of bar
And it is taken as 9 D i.e. 9 times the diameter of bar.
So these deductions and hook lengths are important in BBS.
Rest of the part is very easy.
To clear your cocepts of different tyes of bends
I will now show you some of the photos of beams and columns.
