We all 1st year M.Sc nursing Student on 4th march 2020 Visit on IVF at 11am To 3
pm

We learn about the general objective , Activity and policy regarding IVF.

leading edge facilities for ensuring effective delivery at affordable and sustainable
cost for the collective community welfare.

First of all I am very thankful to God for giving me this opportunity to visit “IVF
CENTER ” and I believe that anything that happens is only by God. I am also thankful
to following persons.

I am thankful to Gujarat University for take an indusrial visit in our syllabus.

I am thankful to IVF CENTER to give permission for an industrial visit to their unit &
thankfull to Dr Rajat kumar for give the information of their sector.

Mr.Chirag patel being very helpful on visit .

I am also very thankful to my parents for giving me permission allow me took

admission in Msc Nursing and also very thankful to M.sc faculty allow me to go
for visit.

 Introduction of IVF centre

IVF centre that has been constructed by Dr Rajat

kumar. He is a gynaecologist and specialist in infertility
and cancer GYNAC- ONCHO.

 • What is IVF (in vitro fertilisation)?

IVF is the process of fertilization by extracting eggs,

retrieving a sperm sample, and then manually combining
an egg and sperm in a laboratory dish. The embryo(s) is
then transferred to the uterus.
Assisted reproductive technology includes medical
procedures used primarily to address infertility. This
subject involves procedures such as in vitro fertilization,
intracytoplasmic sperm injection, cryopreservation of
gametes or embryos.

DEFINITION:

It is define as a medical procedure whereby an egg

is fertilized by sperm in a test tube or elsewhere outside
the body.

 The IVF Process
➢ Ovulation induction:
Most women are given fertility medicines or
hormones at this time to stimulate the ovaries to
produce one or more eggs. Having several eggs
available for IVF will increase the chances of
pregnancy.
➢ Egg retrieval:
A very thin needle is passed through the upper
vaginal wall. With the use of vaginal ultrasound, fluid
is removed from the follicles under gentle suction.
Immediately after aspiration of the follicle, the
oocyte (egg) is isolated from the follicular fluid.
➢ Fertilization:
A sperm sample is secured, either from the husband
or a donor as the case may be, and the most active
sperms are mixed with the eggs in a special
chamber. Then, the sperms and eggs are placed in
an incubator and monitored to make sure that a
healthy embryo develops.
 ➢ Embryo transfer and Implantation:
First, the embryos are examined to select the
healthiest ones for transfer. To transfer the embryo,
a speculum is placed into the vagina and the embryo
is transferred via a small plastic tube placed through
the cervix into the uterine cavity.

Starting IVF Treatment

Be on the pill anywhere from 10 days to 5 wks depending

on patient's schedule.

IVF Consult anywhere from week 2 to week 4. Injection

class scheduled. Stop all medication at 5 or 8 weeks
• What impacts IVF success rates?
Some of the main factors for IVF success are the age
of the woman and the sperm quality.
While younger women have higher chances of
success, the chances reduce with age-related decline
in the quality as well as the quantity of eggs.

From this visit, students got the information and

practical knowledge about activity of IVF Centre. 12
students were benefited from this visit as they got
chance to discussion with Doctor’s who are
constantly connected with this IVF centre.
After visit we discuss about process and clear all legal
procedure regarding IVF. We ask some questions to
the Dr Rajat and clear all doutes.
