On receival of BOP transportation skid in horizontal transport mode please follow the below steps of
instructions.
G

• Cross check all the pins and fasteners in place. (Ref. APPENDIX-2)
• Hydraulic cylinder and tank shall be inspected for any damages and leakage.
N

• Check the hydraulic cylinder oil level as per APPENDIX-3

• BOP stack flange dimensions shall be taken, and the claps shall be adjusted to suit the requirement.
VA

• While removing the clamp bolts, always secure the clamp with crane or fork lift.
• Double check Ensure all the bolts are tightened properly after adjustments.
• Remove the stabilizer extension pins and pull out the stabilizers outside using fork lift. Stabilized
extensions are made removable type considering for city transportation limits. This extension will come
out fully. Caution must be taken while removing out and locking at extended position.
• Place the crane in appropriate lifting position to achieve minimum, 35 ton lifting capacity at any angle.

• Remove the L-shape skid lock pins indicated in the above diagram.
• Make sure the sling length is enough to remove the crane hook a from a man operating height, after L
skid is at vertical position.
• Attach the crane hook to sling and swing up the L-shaped skid.
* During lifting the crane load cell reading at horizontal position will be around 1.5- 2.5 ton.
* Standard safe lifting procedure applicable and no personals are allowed nearby skid and under
crane.
• Swing up the skid to 90° and lock the skid in position using 2 lock pin provided at skid and 4 on bracing

07. OIL LEVEL MAINTAINNING

D
AR
U
G

Periodic inspection is required to check the external leakages from the cylinder, tank
ports & pipe joints
N

It is advised to check the oil level in tank after every rig movement.
VA

The unit position to check the oil level in the tank is, the cylinder should be in full
extended condition as in above photo. please note the oil tank is provided with two ball
valves at the height of 320mm from its bottom, which ensures the excess 10ltr in the
tank after the full extension of the cylinder. To check the oil level, we need to open
the ball valve. if the oil spills out from the ball valve which indicates there is enough oil
in the tank

In case there is no oil flow from the ball valve, then we need to open the extra port in
tank top, fill the oil through the top port till it’s spills out through the ball valve. we
can also use any one of the ball valve to fill the tank, meantime other ball valve should
be in open position to vent out the air from the tank.
