Subject: Power Box Harness Wiring

Allowable Hours: 0.50 hours

Issue:
Genie has become aware that the Power Box Harness in the machines referenced above may be wired
incorrectly. This incorrect wiring could result in a component short circuit and may result in overheating.
Overheating could result in a machine fire causing damage to the machine and present a potentially
hazardous situation.

Action(s) Required:
Completion of this Safety Notice must take place as soon as possible, but no later than 30 days from
receipt of this notice.

Tools required:

 Small flathead screwdriver


 Wrench
 Ratchet
1 Locate the affected machines referenced above within your fleet.
Note: Perform this procedure on a firm, level surface with the machine in the
stowed position.
2 Push in the red Emergency Stop button to the off position.
3 Locate the battery pack. Disconnect the battery pack from the machine.

4 In the ground control side, locate and access the ground control box. 3 power box
5 Open the power box located below the control box. Refer to illustration 1.

6 Locate the connections of the orange wires into the C27 receptacle.

3 orange wire 2-from inline fuse (to C27 pin #7 connector)
4 C27 pin connector
5 C27 harness
6 C27 receptacle
7 receptacle lock
8 C27 pin #7 connector
9 C27 pin #1 connector
If the orange wires are connected as described in illustration 2, continue on to step 7.
If the orange wires are not connected as described in illustration 2, re-wire the connections. Follow Re-wiring
Instructions starting on page 3 before proceeding to step 7.
7 Close and secure the power box.
8 Connect the battery pack to the machine.
9 Fill out and sign the attached completion form and fax or email to Terex AWP Warranty Department. This will
serve as verification that you have completed Safety Notice 170013.
10 Return the machine to service.

Re-wiring Instructions
1 Disconnect the C27 harness from the back of the power box and set aside.
2 Remove the receptacle lock from the receptacle and set aside.
3 Remove the orange wires from C27 pin connector.
4 Re-connect the orange wires. Refer to illustration 2.
 Orange wire 1 to C27 pin #1 connector
 Orange wire 2 from the inline fuse to C27 pin #7 connector
5 Install the receptacle lock removed at step 2.
6 Connect the C27 harness to the receptacle.
7 Close and secure the power box.
8 Connect the battery pack to the machine.
9 Perform a pre-operation inspection per the Operator's Manual for the machine.
10 Fill out and sign the attached completion form and fax or email to Terex AWP Warranty Department. This will
serve as verification that you have completed Safety Notice 170013.
11 Return the machine to service.

nearest Terex AWP dealer for assistance in completing this Safety Notice. Only Terex AWP authorized dealers
will be reimbursed for labor or any other costs associated with this Safety Notice under the provisions of our
standard warranty terms and conditions.
Local norms and regulations require that the seller of a Genie machine report to Genie the model and serial
number of each machine sold, as well as the name, address, and telephone number of the new owner, within 60
days of the sale. Use the Owner Update Form attached to the bulletin to indicate the new location or status of any
of your machines. You may also visit our website to register your machine.
