HEAT EXCHANGERS CHECKING LIST

1. Study the Material Requisition


2. Check design conditions according to MR.
3. Check all basic dimensions (Total length, distance between saddles and
nozzles, Inner diameter, plate thickness etc)
4. Check nozzle details (elevation, orientation, size of nozzle, type of
reinforcement (pad or self-reinforcement), flange rating etc.
5. Check nozzle loads table
6. Check if there is any corrosion allowance
7. Check Materials
8. Check material list (all items must have material list No)
9. Check lifting lugs
10. Check earthing lugs
11. Check insulation clips if any
12. Check painting type
13. Check welding details
14. Check Mechanical calculations handout

ATTENTION TO THESE POINTS

1. Minimum distance between welding lines to be 50 mm.


2. Hydrostatic pressure to be 1.4 times the operational pressure

General comments

1. H2S service needs seal welding at tubes. Also if extreme pressure is existent,
seal weld is necessary. If strength welding is chosen the expansion of tubes
can be avoided.
