define biodiversity,
identify and explain the different levels of Biodiversity; and
appreciate the importance of biodiversity by making a slogan on how to
protect the biodiversity.

Activity No 1: “VIDEO PRESENTATION”
Strategy/Approach: Think-Pair and Share
Instruction: Students will take note the guided questions and choose their
pair/partner. They will watch the video clip and answer the guided
questions after the video clip presented.

- Is the variety of life. BIO means “life” and DIVERSITY means “variety”

Three main types of BIODIVERSITY
- SPECIES DIVERSITY
Refers to the species richness and evenness of the species
abundance.
SPECIES RICHNESS
o Tells you the number of species in an ecosystem.
o If a community has more species, it is said to be more
diverse.
EVENNESS OF SPECIES ABUNDANCE
o Refers to the number of individuals of a particular
species in a community.
o If the abundance of species is even, it is more
diverse.
- GENETIC DIVERSITY
Is the diversity or variability within species, community or
assemblage.
- ECOSYSTEM DIVERSITY
Is the variety of different ecosystems within an area.
