1. Theme:

Strengthening research, innovation and publication culture at the faculty: Solutions for scaling
up research, innovation and publication for faculty and university transformation.

2. Background to the Symposium:

To strengthen the Research, Publication and Grant System at the faculty as a necessary catalyst

3. Purpose:

With an emphasis on the impact of research and publication to the university development
process, the symposium objectives are:

(i) To promote innovative approaches for the grant research acquiring and research article
publication.
(ii) Discuss and provide a call to action for new approaches to reorient Faculty members
towards research, publication and grant.
(iii) Provide a basis for planning further research, publication and grant activities.
(iv) Providing an impetus to finalizing research and writing up findings.
4. Participants:

The high level symposium will bring together the students, teaching and non-teaching staff of
FETDAFA and other selected members of Kabale University. The University VC of Kabale
University will be the Chief Guest at the Symposium.
