We can't deny the fact that we are


using muscles in our everyday lives.
As we breathe, we are using the
major muscle responsible for
BPED 1 BLK 2
breathing which is the diaphragm.
As I continue this discussion, let us
define what is motor unit summation
and muscle tension first. According
to John Simmons, motor unit
summation or spatial summation is
the recruitment of additional motor
units within a muscle to develop
force. While the muscle tension is
defined as the condition in which
muscles of the body remain semi-
contracted for an extended period.
With the over used muscle during
exercise, muscle tension occured. It
can be also caused of poor posture,
stress, anxiety and depression. In
order to remove or develop muscle
tension we can use equipments and
find a comfortable position where
