Preamble:-

As per the Finance Department Resolution cited at above ref (1), State
Government has implemented the policy of direct recruitment with fixed pay for
5 (Five) years in all Class-3 and Class-4 cadres of the State Government Offices
as a part of economy measures and with regard to this Resolution, revised terms
and conditions for contractual appointment with fixed pay have been prescribed
vide Finance Department Resolution cited at (2) in above reference.

In the revised terms and conditions prescribed in Finance Department

Resolution cited at (2) in above, there is no provision of Paternity Leave for male
employees appointed with fixed pay on contract basis. Representations have been
received by the State Government for providing Paternity Leave to the male
employees appointed on contract basis with fixed pay. Therefore, the matter to
revise the terms and conditions prescribed in Finance Department Resolution
cited at (2) in above reference was under consideration of the State Government.

Resolution

The State Government after careful consideration, inserts the following

condition after condition no. (4)(D) of the terms and conditions prescribed under
Statement-1 of Finance Department resolution dated 28/3/2016 cited at (2) in
above reference.

(E) "Benefit of Paternity Leave as per the provision of Rule-70 of Gujarat

Civil Service(Leave) Rules, 2002 shall be admissible to male employees
recruited directly on contractual basis with fixed pay."
. All other terms and conditions of the Resolution cited at (2) in above
reference shall remain unchanged.

The resolution shall be implemented from the date of its issuance.
