March 17, 2020 Notice regarding COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus)

For the last 80 years, Rush’s has been committed to quality and fast service. We have a demonstrated
commitment to doing what’s right to protect our customers and our team. That means doing our part in
preventing transmission of COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) in this pandemic.

Rush’s learned that an employee of the Camden Store has tested positive for COVID-19 today. That
employee’s information is confidential. We are providing a timeline so that customers of the Camden Store
can protect yourselves and your family. The Rush’s employee became aware of the potential exposure on
March 14, 2020, sought testing, and has not worked since then. Based upon information we have received,
this employee may have been exposed to the virus on March 2, 2020. The employee was not at work when
exposed. If a customer visited the Camden Store between March 3 and March 14, 2020, you could
have been exposed.

At Rush’s, nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of our customers, our team, and our
neighbors. We have always used procedures that support our high standards in the areas of cleanliness and
health. Our stores are cleaned every six hours routinely. Rush’s has reviewed recent CDC and DHEC
guidance about COVID-19. Experts say that people can catch COVID-19 from others who have the virus. The
disease can spread from person-to-person through small droplets from the nose or mouth which are spread when a
person with COVID-19 coughs or exhales. These droplets also land on objects and surfaces around the person.
Other people then catch COVID-19 by touching these objects or surfaces, then touching their eyes, nose, or mouth.
Please note that the FDA says there is currently no evidence of food or food packaging being associated with
transmission of the virus. As of March 17, 2020, the CDC believes at this time that symptoms may appear in as few
as two days or as long as 14 days after exposure. Go to CDC.gov for updates.

Rush’s is taking the following immediate steps to keep our community safe:
• The Camden Store will be temporarily closed for deep cleaning.
• Rush’s Camden Store employees have been sent home with pay for the next two weeks and asked to
self-quarantine.
• Additionally, we are asking all team members to inform us of exposure to anyone diagnosed with
COVID-19 and to let management know if they have virus symptoms. When appropriate, we will keep
employees out of work to confirm that they are not infected with the virus.
• All Rush’s locations continue to enforce the most stringent cleaning and sanitary standards.

If you have symptoms of COVID-19 (such as mild to severe respiratory illness with fever, cough, and difficulty
breathing), seek medical attention and ask to be tested for COVID-19. You can get a free online evaluation
at MUSC.Care by using promo code COVID19 when you log on.

Thank you to our loyal customers for your continued confidence and trust in our people and our company.
Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by COVID-19. As we all work together to stay safe in this
pandemic, please take care of yourself and your family and let Rush’s know how we can help. We are all in
this together!

Sincerely,
Bill Rademacher
Vice President
