Notes and Safety Instructions
1. Ketone-based ink and cleaning solvents are flammable and irritable, so the ink jet printing system,

ink and cleaning solvents should be stored in well ventilated places where naked light is excluded

and fire-extinguishing installation(such as sand and extinguishers) is supplied.

2. The printer works at a voltage of 230V. Never unplug the power plug before turning off the power

switch, or it will result in electric shock.

3. Never plug and unplug lines in the printer at random, and never point the printheads toward

yourself, others or naked light. Prevent the ink from spattering in eyes or mouth. If ink or solvents

spatter in eyes or mouth, please flush eyes or mouth with water and seek medical attention

immediately.

4. Place a suitable container in front of the printheads during cleaning. The ink collected can not be

used again and should be disposed of reasonably to ensure no fire or health harm, as it may

contaminate the ink being used in the system.

5. Wear goggles and gloves with protective edges when disposing of ink and solvents. Avoid

inhaling ink and solvents for a long time, and clean spattered ink and solvents timely.

6. Please don‟t pour waste liquids into sewers for the sake of environment.

7. The system should be grounded securely to ensure personal safety, and the environment of high

magnetic field and electronic noise should be excluded during operation to avoid interference to the

Fix the controller box to the special bracket (an optional fitting) for the printer or to a self-made

bracket in the site of production line with three M5 bolts.

8
Note: the height difference between the controller and the printhead cannot be too large, and the

maximum distance between the printhead and controller is 1.8m.

2. Printhead and Printhead Mounting Bracket

The appearance for the Condor-II printhead is shown as Fig.2 and its size is 165mm×76mm×

43mm:

Fig.2 Appearance of Condor-II Printhead

Assemble the printhead bracket according to the figure, and install the printhead in the specified

direction. Note: Be sure to use not too long screws to secure the printhead as longer screws could

damage the electronics inside the head. As an essential precise part of the equipment, the

printhead should be handled with care for protection against collision so as to avoid damage to

printhead parts. To obtain optimum print effect, the distance between the printhead bottom and the

targeted product surface should be less than 13mm. The conveyor speed is constant in order to get

optimum print quality.

Attach the two ends of printhead cable to the printhead and controller separately.

3. Input Device

Connect the data cable connector of input device to the input device interface of controller box. The

input device can be put on the top of controller box in the case of no operation (shown as Fig.3).

the sliding bracket of Fig. 5 (fix to the side that the object comes to as possible).

Fig 5. Installation Diagram for Printhead and Bracket

7. Power Connection

Connect the power cord to the controller. The power plug should be properly connected to well

grounded power supply. To prevent damage to the system, it is suggested to use surge protector

to avoid surge, sharp pulse, noise and so on.

12
III. Setup Steps

After installation and perfect self-check, perform following setup steps:

1. Connect the printer to power supply, press the power switch on the side of controller box, and the

display on the input device reads as shown below:

>Print Message
Edit Message

2. Then ink in the bottle flows to the printhead under air pressure. For the system in which ink is

newly or repeatedly added, a manual purge must be performed to remove air from the ink line(s)

and printhead(s). Method: There is a manual purge valve on the back of the printhead. To avoid

contamination to the system, place a cloth (or paper towel) under the purge valve to collect ink

dripping from the purge valve. This will keep your system clean. Insert the supplied purge tube

(CAUTION: the system switch must be turned off when purge tube is installed. Fluid will squirt from

the purge valve under pressure. Do not activate the purge valve unless an appropriate waste

container is in place to collect the waste fluid.) into the manual purge valve, then the manual purge

valve is opened, and the liquid squirts from the end of purge tube. Purge each printhead until ink

flows constant (approximately 5-10 seconds) allowing all air to be removed from the ink line(s) and

printhead(s), and then remove the purge tube to complete a manual purge process for the system.

3. The final step in this initial startup procedure is to perform an electronic purge of the printhead(s).

Place some sheets of cardboard in front of each printhead being purged to collect the waste fluid,

which will spray from the nozzles. Follow the instructions in the Purge Nozzles section, and purge all

nozzles for each printhead. When the input device display shows the following message, the system

is ready for purging.

A purge will be performed each time the photocell is blocked, while this message is displayed.

Purge each printhead 3-4 times to remove all air and solvent from the nozzles. This will ensure

optimum print quality. NOTE: Once the photocell has been triggered, you will want to move the

waste material from side to side in front of the printhead to contain the ink on the waste material.

Never turn the power off during purging, or the electronic board will be burned.

13
Flushing.
Press any key to quit.

4. It may be necessary to wipe the nozzle plate from time to time with appropriate cleaning solution.

An electronic purge should be performed on printers sitting several days to ensure optimum print

quality on the first print.

Note: The necessary air pressure is affected by following factors:

The distance between the printhead and the substrate; the distance between the printhead and the

ink bottle; Height difference between the printhead and the ink source.

Make the printhead body be far away from the strongly magnetic, dusty and trembled production

lines.
