Design thinking and innovation

1. CHALLENGE: being a cricket fan I always wanted to

join and learn cricket since my childhood. After
joining cricket coaching classes (early morning
practice), waking up at 4am was the biggest
challenge for me back then. But I also believe age
between 8-14 is where you should learn and
practice new things.
2. SELECTION: I have selected storytelling as my tool
because I find apt for my challenge as it focuses on
motivating and creating new ideas.
Video reference is week 2 4th video storytelling
tools
Storytelling is not about the list of things people
have to do, it is about the connection that people
get about a small information that they’re trying to
share. A good story is a story that motivates you,
guides you in a proper path and it is a message
that has logic. Storytelling has a large purpose and
has an ability to connect to us emotionally. A good
story ignites people and unites people, but it has a
cause. Storytelling plays an important role as it can
be expressed in a different manner, it also helps us
to gain new idea and think creative way.
Storytelling can not only just be told but it can be
expressed in a different form with photos, comics
Design thinking and innovation
etc. because each one of us a different point of
view in listening to a story.
Storytelling can be recommended for students and
children to get new ideas and think effectively.
3. APPLICATION: from a very young age it had been a
habit for me to listen to stories and sleep and at
that age it wasn’t that effective for me, but when I
joined cricket every small story seemed to be
motivative for me, it made me think positively and
I started to wakeup early in the morning.
4. INSIGHT: storytelling is the source to think of new
insights for which one can make good decision in
life.
Commonly these insights of storytelling will help
you find more interesting things to do and learn.
The insight gained from this tool Is to stay positive
and think smart in difficult situation.
5. APPROACH: I also find visualization interesting as it
can be easily connected to storytelling as it helps
to imagine and visualize the narrated story and
gives a clear image on what is narrated and it can
be applied in gathering new ideas and thinking in a
different way, it makes our brain works smarter
and faster.
