Hi, I'm Ange Takats. Two weeks ago I started to feel unwell. I stayed home and then my
husband became unwell. We started binge watching a UK series called Taskmaster and
it involved comedians doing silly challenges. It made us laugh between our coughing fits.
I then had an idea to start doing our own challenges at home - just one a day - to try
and lighten the mood and distract us from the gloomy news headlines.
I've created this PDF for anyone who is in lockdown or self-isolating and wants to have
some mindless fun. Ideally, you'll be self-isolating with one or two others who you can
compete against but I've also tried to create tasks (*) that can be played over
Skype/Video Call for those living alone (with some mutual trust and creativity needed to
make them happen!)
TASK 1*
THE RICE SCOOP
Your job is to scoop uncooked
rice from a cereal bowl into a
small glass using a knife. You are
not allowed to pick up either
vessel. Whoever gets the most
rice into the glass in 1 minute
wins.
TASK 2*
GET CLOSE TO THE JAM
Lay a sheet or blanket down. The
person doing the challenge must
stand blindfolded at the edge of
the sheet, holding a scrunched
up piece of paper. Sneaking into
the space, the other person must
place a jar of jam somewhere on
the sheet. The blindfolded person
must then throw the paper ball
as close to the jar as possible.
Closest throw wins.

TASK 3
FINGER OR PENCIL?
One person stands with their
back to the other and holds their
hands out flat behind them. The
other person must tap the hand
of the person in front of them
with either a pencil or their
finger. The person must guess
which one. Best of three wins.
TASK 4*
UNDIES UNDIES UNDIES
Contestants must start in the
same room. Then set the timer to
1 minute. Once you hit 'go' you
must race to put on as many
undies on as possible. Most pairs
of undies at the end of the
minute wins.
TASK 5*
PAPER PLANE THROW
Using one piece of A4 paper,
create a paper plane in 1 minute.
Fly your plane across the
room/yard. Longest distance
covered wins.
TASK6*
WEIRDEST THING
You have 2 minutes to find the
weirdest thing in your house.
Find someone outside of your
household to be the judge.
Maybe you can email photos
of the weird items to a friend
or post them on FB and ask
people to vote.
TASK 7*
TALLEST PAPER TOWER
Using 5 sheets of A4 paper each,
make the tallest tower using
paper only. You have 5 minutes!
Your tower needs to stand up by
itself for at least 5 seconds after
the timer goes off. Tallest free-
standing tower wins!
TASK 8*
EYES WIDE OPEN
Who can keep their eyes wide
open for the longest? You can do
this at the same time as each
other or take turns while timing
it. Whoever lasts the longest
without blinking wins.

TASK 9*
NEW DANCE MOVE
You have 10 minutes to invent a
brand new dance move. Film
each participants' moves and
send them to someone outside of
your household to be the judge
or post them on FB and ask for
votes!
TASK 10*
"B" FOOD LIST
You have 5 minutes to write
down as many types of food
beginning with the letter "B". You
can not use brand names.
Longest list of legitimate food
items wins.
TASK 11
RANDOM STUFF
Take a pillow case and put four
random items inside. Swap pillow
cases with your opponent.
Without looking into the case,
put your hand inside and try to
guess the items. Whoever
guesses the most wins.

TASK 12*
TOTAL RECALL
One person places 20 items on a
table. The other person then has
30 seconds to look at the items.
They should then turn their back
to the table and list as many
items as they can within 1 minute.
Swap roles. Whoever lists the
most items wins.
TASK 13*
ALPHABET COLLECTOR
Find items around the house that
begin with each letter of the
alphabet as quickly as you can.
You have 10 minutes to complete
the task. Whoever has the most
items wins.
TASK 14
PIG SONG
You have 30 minutes to write a
song for an animal documentary
about the secret life of pigs.
Make recordings of the songs
and send them to friends to
judge or upload to FB and ask for
people to vote.
TASK 15*
BALANCING ACT
Balance as many items as you
can on the soles of your feet.
You have 2 minutes to load the
items and then they must stay in
place for 30 seconds. Whoever is
able to balance the most items
wins.
TASK 16
SOCKIE SILENT MOVIE
Film your own silent movie. The
main characters must be a sock.
You are not allowed to use any
sound effects or talking. You
must tell your story in under 1
minute. Send videos to friends to
judge or post them on FB and ask
for votes.
TASK 17
MYSTERY MUGS
One person must find 4 small
items. Cover each with a mug
that has been turned upside
down. Write the items on 4
pieces of paper. The other
person must then guess which
label belongs to which mug
without lifting them up or moving
anything off the table. Most
correct guesses wins.

TASK 18*
UPSIDE-DOWN PORTRAIT
You have 15 minutes to draw a
self-portrait. You must draw
yourself upside down. You are
not allowed to turn your head or
the paper. Upload your portraits
and ask friends to judge the
winner.
TASK 19*
SWEET & SOUR POETRY
Write a haiku (poem of 17
syllables, in three lines: 5, 7, 5)
about a lemon. Send the poems
to someone outside of your
household or upload them to FB
and ask for votes.
TASK 20*
EMPTY LOO ROLL ART
Create the most impressive thing
possible out of an empty toilet
roll. The only item you are
allowed to use to help you with
your creation is a pair of
scissors. You have 10 minutes.
Upload your empty roll artworks
to FB or ask someone in another
household to choose the winner.

Scoring depends on how many people are taking part in the challenge in
your household. For example, if you have four people playing, the winner
gets 4 points, 2nd place gets 3 points, 3rd place gets 2 points and 4th
place gets 1 point. You might also want to create a Taskmaster costume
that you can wear to do all your challenges ;)
