To whom it may concern,

My name is Sidney Ririmasse, and along with this letter I expressed my interest to apply
as Community Based Protection Intern in UNHCR. I have acquired Bachelor Degree from
Criminology, Faculty of Social and Political Science in Universitas Indonesia. In Ciminology
I learned and experienced field research with quantitative and qualitative method. For my thesis
I conduct qualitative research to collected data.

Criminology in Universitas Indonesia is based on sociology perspective, in 4 years I

learned about crime but based on sociology and psychology approach. For my thesis I’m doing
qualitative research using deep interview as my methods to gather information about human
trafficking, Beside that I also experienced qualitative research as well for my class assignments
in prison and in slum area. In Criminology I learned transnational crime, gender and human
rights issues, and penology where I learned types of punishment and prison. Since 2018 until
now I also work in Sandya Institute as Research Volunteer. Sandya Institute itself have concern
and actively campaign human rights issues. When I still in university I also responsible on
Academic and Research Division where I trained my staffs to write articles about crime and
human rights issues, involved in many discussion and goes to field activities in prisons.

I’m currently positioned as Programme Director for Sandya Institute since December
2019. My responsibility as Programe Director is negotiating with client together with Executive
and Vice Executive Director, coordinating volunteer and Sandya Institute programmes. I also
work together with Project Officer to coordinate documment needed for our programme like
TOR, proposal, letters, etc. I learned to work in team and as team leader from this experienced.
As Programme Director I have meet client from Indonesia or Embassy or foreigners so I have
experienced work using English and Bahasa Indonesia for communication.

I apply to UNHCR because I believe that refugee also have rights eventhough they are
not the citizen of this country. Refugee have to rights to feel safe and protected, and they should
get a training to support their life and soft skill. During my time in Sandya Institute I meet some
refugees who come to our event and involved in our project, so I have experienced in activities
or event that involved refugees. I also experienced in team work, managing programme and
event from my experience in student union and Sandya Institute. I personally want to involved
in project that help empowering people particularly marginalised people. I believe experience
and knowledge that I got from Criminology and Sandya Institute will be useful for this
internship and it’s a good opportunity for me to improve my skill. I hope I can hear good news
from you in future. Thank you.

Regards,

Sidney Ririmasse
Sincerely,

Sidney Ririmasse
