WORKSHEET

Note: This will be submitted, and will be recorded as your performance activity.
I- Identify which type of sampling is used: random, stratified, cluster, systematic, or
convenience.
STRATIFIED 1. A psychologist selects 12 boys and 12 girls from each of 4 Math classes.
CONVENIENCE2. When he made an important announcement, he based conclusion on
10,000 responses, from 100,000 questionnaires distributed to students.
CLUSTER3. A biologist surveys all students from each of 15 randomly selected classes.
RANDOM 4. The game show organizer writes the name of each contestant on a separate
card, shuffles the cards and draws 5 names.
STRATIFIED5. Family planning polls 1000 men and 1000 women about their views
concerning the use of contraceptives.
CLUSTER6. A hospital researcher interviews all diabetic patients in each 10 randomly
selected hospitals.
SYSTEMATIC 7. Smart selects every 100th cell phone from the assembly line and conduct a
thorough test of quality.
II- Writing: You are interested in studying the effects of alcoholic drinks on teenage
crime.
A. Describe the population of interest.
The population of interest is teenagers whose age falls within the rage from thirteen
through nineteen (13-19) who drinks alcoholic beverages, at least once a week.
B. Describe how you might obtain a random sample.
As a researcher, I can obtain a random sample by gathering the names of all qualified
participants from the population, put the names of all prospective participants in
a box, mix the names and pick without looking.

Observing the outcomes of the events2. Effectiveness of the New Secondary Curriculum.
Taking measurements in experiments3. Heights of the 20 applicants.
Conducting survey/tally4. No.of customers in a restaurant from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Conducting surveys/tally 5. Opinions of the commuters about the color-coding scheme.
Taking measurements in experiments6. Body temperature of the patients in Level 1.
Conducting surveys/tally 7. Favorite sports of the freshmen.
Conducting survey/tally8. Total number of voters in the last 2010 election.
Conducting surveys/tally9. Popularity of Korean telenovelas.
Taking measurements in experiments10. Actual volume of each pack of mango juice.
II- Answer the given question.
Jessa wanted to find whether a die was fair or biased. She tossed the die 60 times and
recorded the results.
1. What kind of data- collection method did Jessa use?Taking measurements in
experiments
2. Give the possible results in each toss.
- The possible results would be 1,2,3,4,5,6

day from their parents. The figure below represents the allowance in pesos each
students received.

2. Prepare a frequency distribution table using Rule 1 and Rule 1. -A marketing research
consultant conducted a survey of 40 persons who used to visit fast food chains in one
morning. The age of the persons was recorded to the nearest year as follows:
