a. identify the two forms of mechanical energy;
b. determine the difference between potential energy and kinetic energy; and
c. recognize the potential energy and kinetic energy.

motion. A falling object, a running car, or a rolling
rock possesses mechanical energy. Mechanical
energy is the energy of movement.
