Friday, 3/20

Good Morning! I t’s Friday already! This is

definitely one week you will always remember.
On this day in history, Albert Einstein
presented his general theory of relativity in
1916. In 1920, the US Postmaster declared that
all US households had to have post boxes in
order to receive mail. During this difficult week
in our history, ! I want to compliment each and
every one of you for your hard work and for
being flexible fifth graders! I am so proud of all
of you!

This morning, we will have a Whole Group Z OOM at 9:00. P
 lease be on
time so we can have our community circle and share some fun stories
from this week. Here is the link to the Z oom

Supplies Update- I will be in our classroom from 12-12:30 this afternoon for
you to pick up CHROMEBOOKS ONLY. If you come with your parent, make
sure to stay 6 feet away from others, and only come if you are healthy.

This is the day to finish up those Genius Slides.
Take another look at the information on Effective Slide Presentations
Your slides will have:
● a visual on every slide.
● 3-4 bullet points of information - NO COMPLETE SENTENCES. You will be
doing the talking and explaining your short bullet points.
● In general, each slide should only cover the answers you found to one of your
questions. This will usually correspond to a paragraph in your essay.
Example: How carrier pigeons are trained or how carrier pigeons served as
spies during World War II.
● You may use note cards to write your speech for your Genius Talk. Use
separate cards for each slide. Sometimes you will need more than one card
for a slide. (If you don’t have notecards, you can cut computer paper into four
“cards)
