This position drives and communicates software (SW) requirements for the North American
area to ensure clear understanding and prioritization for overall software development under
the North America Solutions R&D organization. You will tie all necessary software efforts for
both the strategic customer project-based business related projects and product
development. The Software System engineer will serve as point-of-contact to Global KONE
Software team and will be the technical driver to selected software technology partners.

The Software (SW) Systems Engineer executes and oversees the development and
implementation of internal development, partner software development and solutions
providers. Responsibilities include SW architecture, design, and assisting the development
team through the product life cycle. Industry-wide experience with Smart Buildings and IoT
products will be required to provide platform solutions. Assist custom or first time solution
activities as the subject matter expert on networking, cyber security, and data analytics
while creating future platform offerings. Within this role, the successful individual will assist
in developing strategic objectives for the business identifying Smart Building and IoT
features and roadmaps.

Job Responsibilities:
Architect and design complex system and building networks to support Smart Building
applications.

Assure validation and testing to meet requirements, including hands on testing.

Work with internal and external SW Manager providing development objectives and overall
status and risks.

Assess customer’s networks identifying cyber security vulnerabilities and data analytics.

Ability to work with the hardware (HW) team defining appropriate platforms assuring SW
performance and reliability.

Ability to implement code or scripts from multiple products and resources.

Pre-sales support, demos, and pre-site evaluations

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar degree (Masters a plus) + years of


related experience in IT System networking

5+ years of related experience in code development and networking with Cyber Security

3+ years of IoT and Smart Building product development (a plus)

Experience in C++, Java, Python and Linux.

Experience in coordinating both domestic and international software development.

Experience with SW IDE’s (e.g. Visual Studio), code repositories, and test tools

Proven ability to facilitate root cause analysis, problem identification and resolution.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills to interface with internal customers,


technology partners, suppliers, and management.

Ability to communicate externally and internally across the organization

Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
