R & P REGULATIONS
The Regulations may be called “Karnataka
Electricity Board Recruitment and
Promotion Regulations”
These Regulations shall apply to:
 All employees who are in service and
paid on monthly basis.
 All employees of the Board deputed to
Government and other organizations.
DEFINITIONS
EX-SERVICEMAN :
means a person who has served in the
Armed Forces for a continuous period of not
less than six months.

ELIGIBILITY LIST :
means a list of persons in a particular
cadre finalized and maintained for purpose of
promotion to the next higher cadre.
DEFINITIONS

RURAL CANDIDATE
means a person who has studied from first
standard to tenth standard in a school
situated in a rural area/ towns specified by
the Government from time to time.

“SENIORITY”
Seniority means an employee in the order
of ranking in a particular cadre.
CLASSIFICATION
Group-A : Minimum pay Rs.20600/- and above in
the time scale.
Group-B : Minimum pay Rs.18380/- and above
but below Rs.20600/- in the time scale.
Group-C : Minimum pay Rs.9050/- and above but
below Rs,18380/- in the time scale.
Group-D : Pay below Rs.9050/- in the time scale.
CAT - I – Rs. 27460 & above
CAT – II – Rs. 20030 to 27459
CAT - III – Rs. 14750 to 20029
CAT - IV – Below Rs. 14750
AGE LIMITS:
Every person for appointment by direct
recruitment must have attained the age of
eighteen years and not attained the age of;

40 years in the case of a person belonging to any


of the SC or ST or CAT - I

38 years in the case of a person belonging to


CAT II(a) or II(b) or III(a) or III(b).

35 years in the case of any other persons (GM)


PROCEDURE OF RECRUITMENT:
Recruitment to the post shall
be made by written or oral
test/by interview/ endurance
test in the order of merit from
the list of candidates prepared
by recruitment committee or
other such authority.
PROCEDURE OF RECRUITMENT:
Cut off marks for the candidates seeking
appointment is prescribed as follows:
For candidates belonging to SC/ST Category
- Pass Marks
For candidates belonging to categories
– 50%
For candidates belonging to General Category
- 60%

The candidates appointed for any post against


direct recruitment quota are not entitled to FREE
SUPPLY OF ELECTRICITY under any
circumstances w.e.f 8.5.1997.
PROCEDURE OF RECRUITMENT:
If two or more candidates have equal
percentage, the order of merit shall be based on
their age and person/persons older in age shall be
placed higher.

The candidates appointed for any post against


direct recruitment quota should have knowledge of
minimum two computer software packages.
DISQUALIFICATION FOR APPOINTMENT:
A person who not a citizen of India.
A person who has more than one wife
living.
woman who has married a person
already having another wife.
A person who is in permanent or
temporary employment in State
Government or Central Government and
has made the application without the
consent concerned authority.

PROBATIONS
PERIOD OF PROBATION

The first appointment to a service or post shall normally be


on probation, the period of probation shall be one year.

EXTENSION OF PERIOD OF PROBATION.

The appointing authority may extend the period of probation


by a further equal period. The maximum including the
extended period shall not exceed two years
PROBATIONS
DISCHARGE OF A PROBATIONER DURING
THE PERIOD OF PROBATION:
The appointing authority may at any
time discharge from service a
probationer on grounds arising out of
the specific condition laid down by the
Regulations or in the order of
appointment,
PROBATIONS
DISCHARGE FOR MISCONDUCT:
No order discharging a probationer, during the
period of probation for any misconduct/ lapse shall
be passed without observing formal procedures
prescribed under Board Employees Classification,
Disciplinary, Control and Appeal Regulations 1987.

APPEAL:
No appeal shall lie against an order discharging a
probationer.
INCREMENTS:
No increments can be sanctioned during the period
of probation
PROCEDURE OF PROMOTION:-
The promotions of eligible employees shall be made on
seniority-cum-merit basis.
ROSTER
Reservation in promotion in favour of the person
belonging in to the Scheduled caste & Scheduled Tribe
extend of 15% & 3% respectely of the post of in a cadre
upto and inclusive of the lowest group-A.

PROCEDURE OF PROMOTION:-
The promotions of eligible employees shall be made on
seniority-cum-merit basis.
Exception: Promotion to.
The post of CEE by selection from among the first three
senior most SEE
The post of FA by selection from among the first three senior
most CA.

Category of Post: ACCOUNTS OFFICER

Method of Recruitment
By promotion from the cadre of AAO
on the basis of seniority-cum-merit.

Minimum Qualification:

CATEGORY OF POST: ASSISTANT ACCOUNTS OFFICER

Category of Post; Assistant Executive Engineers (E)

or passed AMIE Examination with not less than 60% of
