DATES TO REMEMBER Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update


This Week: As of today (March 12), there are no confirmed cases of
3/9-13- Visual and Performing Arts coronavirus (COVID-19) within Saddleback Valley Unified School
Week District schools. Additionally, similar to all Orange County K-12
3/13- King Arthur- 6pm and 8pm- school districts, there is no recommendation for closing
CANCELED schools. All SVUSD schools remain open.

Future Events: Late last night, March 11, the California Department of Public Health
(CDPH) issued the following Gathering Guidance in order to protect
3/15- Drama 2 Showcase- CANCELED
public health and slow the rate of transmission of COVID-19
3/16-20- District Philanthropy Drive
(coronavirus). Key highlights of the CDPH findings relevant to K-12
3/16- School Tour- 9am- CANCELED schools are as follows:
3/16- Site Council Meeting- Principal’s
Conference Room 4pm  The guidance does not apply to activities such as attendance at
3/16- PTSA Meeting (Elections)- MPR regular school classes, work or essential services.
7pm
3/17- Saint Patrick’s Day- Wear Green  Large gatherings that include 250 people or more should be
3/18- Nationball Finals- Extended postponed or canceled. This includes gatherings such as
Snack- CANCELED concerts, conferences, and large school sporting events.
3/18- Wellness Wednesday
3/18- Sophomore Parent Night- THHS  Smaller gatherings held in venues that do not allow social
MPR 6pm- CANCELED distancing of six feet per person should be postponed or
3/20- 4th Got Spirit Day- Extended canceled. This includes gatherings in crowded auditoriums,
Snack rooms or other venues.
3/26-27- One Acts- CANCELED
4/2- Districtwide Unified Sports  A “gathering” is any event or convening that brings together
Games- CANCELED people in a single room or single space at the same time, such
4/3- Minimum Day as an auditorium, stadium, arena, large conference room,
4/6-10- Spring Break- No School meeting hall, cafeteria, or any other indoor or outdoor space.
4/14- Breakfast Club- Extended Snack
4/15- Student Senate Meeting- 3rd

What this means for the SVUSD Community

SVUSD schools will remain open and observe normal schedules. However, in accordance
with this updated guidance from the CDPH, effective immediately, the Saddleback Valley
Unified School District will be taking the following measures, until further notice:

 All field trips are canceled or postponed (schools will provide families information
regarding refunds when available).
 All large non-essential student and staff gatherings are cancelled or postponed, as well
as off-campus visits by students and staff to public places where crowds may gather.
This includes, but is not limited to:
o Assemblies
o Performances such as plays, concerts, etc.
o Dances
o Conferences
o Professional development (consult with your principal regarding on-site staff
development)
o Large (more than 250 people) District events
o Outside travel
 All athletic events are cancelled or postponed.
 All use by outside organizations of school facilities are suspended.

Please note that mandatory and self-quarantine guidelines have not changed. For information
about current guidelines and travel restrictions, visit the CDC or OCHCA websites.

Site administration will communicate to their local school communities regarding postponed or
cancelled events and activities. We will continue to keep you updated as new developments
are received and encourage you to visit the CDC, OCHCA and SVUSD Health Services
Website for updates and resources.

Notice: Site Council Meeting


The next Trabuco Hills High School Site Council meeting will be held in the Principal’s
Conference Room on Monday, March 16th, starting at 4:00 p.m. Representatives of
administration, teachers, staff, parents, and students serve on the council. This meeting is
open to the public.

Athletics
Wrestling Scholarship Opportunity

Trabuco Wrestling has a scholarship opportunity for seniors. Applications for the Peter
Parmenter Memorial Scholarship are available in room 527 and essays will be due Friday,
March 13th, 2020 by 2:00 pm to Coach Bosy.

Steps to get cleared to participate in Athletics at Trabuco Hills High School:
1.) Go to AthleticClearance.com
2.) Register / Create an account under 2019-2020 school year
3.) Enter the code given to activate account
4.) Follow steps to input registration data
5.) Print off sports screening paper work if needed (THHS Website)
6.) Upload sports screening paper work signed and stamped by physician (Both pages)
7.) Finalize with electronic parent / student signature

If you have been approved to take college courses at a community college, please order your
official transcripts and send electronic copies to torresa@svusd.org (emails MUST come
directly from the college, NO forwarded copies will be accepted). If you order a printed
copy, please make sure the envelope is sealed—opened envelopes will NOT be accepted.

Scholarships

Attention Seniors!!! Do you need money for college? The THHS PTSA is offering four
Scholarships worth $500 each to graduating seniors who are student members of PTSA.
Applications for these four scholarships may be obtained from JeNell Gandy in the Career
Center or on the THHS website, under the PTSA link, “Senior Scholarships.” Application
deadline is Friday, April 30, 2020 by 3pm. Stop by the Career Center Monday, Wednesday, or
Friday, or visit the website today to get your application!

THHS PTSA

The Trabuco Hills High PTSA Nominating Committee recommends the following slate
for next year's Trabuco Hills High PTSA Executive Board to be voted on at the March
General Meeting. Nominees are voted into each of these offices per the PTSA bylaws.
Voting will take place at the next General Meeting on March 16th at 7:00PM in the
MPR. NOTE: Any Trabuco Hills High PTSA member in good standing who is
interested in one of these offices may be considered as long as they satisfy the
requirements of the bylaws. Names can be taken from the floor at the March 16th
meeting for anyone interested in one of these positions.
