WOOD FINISHINGS APPLICATION PROCEDURES

POLYURETHANE
Procedure of application:
1) Wipe clean the surface
2) Sand the surface area using grade # 60 sandpapar
The follow up with #100.
3) Apply SANDING SEALER using brush then let it dry.
4) Sand the surface this time using #240 sand paper after
The sealer has dried up.
5) Repeat 3 & 4 three times.
6) Apply the POLYURETHANE with catalyst solution
Using spray gun.
7) Let the item applied dry enough before moving or
Using. Usually it takes more than 12 hours before
the item is completely dry.

VARNISH FINISH

1) Wipe clean the surface


2) Sand the surface area using grade # 60 sandpapar
The follow up with #100.
3) Apply SANDING SEALER using brush then let it dry.
4) Sand the surface this time using #240 sand paper after
The sealer has dried up.
5) Repeat 3 & 4 three times.
6) Apply the desired VARNISH finish on the surface using
spray gun.
7) Let the item applied dry enough before moving or
Using. Usually it takes less time for this to dry as compared
to Polyurethane.
ACRYLIC (duco paint)

1) Sand the surface with # 60 sandpaper.


2) Apply SPUT PUTTY using pallet on all surface
Areas until grains are completely sealed.
3) Sand the surface with # 180 sand paper.
4) Wipe surface clean with dry cloth
5) Apply the ACRYLIC PRIMER using a spray gun. Let it
Dry then sand the surface again, this time using #240
sand paper.
6) Spray the surface with the final ACRYLIC mixture using the
color and finish. The usual choice of finishes are gloss and flat
finish. Other brands more variants of finshes.
7) Let the item dry for more than 4 hours before moving or handling.

BEESWAX

1) Sand the surface thoroughly using different grades of sand paper .


The abrasives to be used are: (in the order of application)
a)#60 b) #100 c) # 180 d) #240 e) 400 & f)# 1000
2) After using the #1000 sand paper apply the BEESWAX on the surface.
repeat the application 3 times each time rubbing it with cloth after
applying beeswax.

LINSEED OIL

1) Sand the surface thoroughly using different grades of sand paper .


The abrasives to be used are: (in the order of application)
a)#60 b) #100 c) # 180 d) #240 e) 400 & f)# 1000

2) After using the #1000 sand paper apply the LINSEED OIL on the surface.
sand the surface again with #1000 sand paper after applying the oil while
it is still wet. Continue sanding until the surface gets dried. Repeat the
application 3 times.
