EXECUTIVE ORDER No. 2

Series of 2019

“AN ORDER DECLARING THE ACTIVATION OF THE CDRRMC OPERATION

CENTER ON JANUARY 18-20, 2019 AS EARLY PREPARATIONS OF THE
INCOMING LOW PRESSURE AREA (LPA) WHICH IS EXPECTED TO ENTER
PHILIPPINE AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY (PAR) ON JANUARY 19, 2019”

WHEREAS, the presence of the Low Pressure Area (LPA) that was tracked East
of Mindanao and which is expected to enter PAR on January 19, 2019 might cause
deterioration of weather conditions in the upcoming days;

WHEREAS, geographical location of Maasin City is vulnerable to natural

disasters that pose a threat to the lives and properties of the people of Maasin;

WHEREAS, it is our major concern that the welfare and safety of our
constituents are prioritized and safeguarded;

NOW, WHEREFORE, by the powers vested in me as the City Mayor of

Maasin, I, NACIONAL V. MERCADO, hereby order the activation of the CDRRMC
operation center on January 18-20, 2019, as early preparation of the incoming Low
Pressure Area.

Section 1. All members of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management
Operations Team, Rescue, Medical and Emergency Teams, and other City employees
particularly the City Social Welfare Development Office, City Health Offices, among
others, are directed in the exigency of services to be 24/7 responsive to the demands of
the emergency situation.

Section 3. All constituents are directed to follow promptly directives and

issuances of the CDRRM and other competent authorities relative to pre-emptive
evacuation, and other CDRRM Operations.

This Order shall take effect immediately.

SO ORDERED, this 18th day of January 2019, in Maasin City, Southern Leyte,
Philippines.
