Today is National Spinach Day! Yum, 


yum! Make sure to eat some healthy 
spinach today! Do you know anything 
about the cartoon character on the right? 
He’s OLDER than I am! He used to sing a 
song. See if you can find out how it goes 
and sing it during one of our Zooms! 
 
Today you have music and PE.

“​Office Hours” Zoom at 9:30 - 10:15​ ​Remember to say, “Hello” if you 
drop by so I hear that you’re there. ​Although all are welcome, these 
students should plan to meet me at 9:30 today; Nick, Rose, Julia, Lauren, 
Skylar, Alex, Oliver, Jewel 
 
Root Word: # ​ 84 urbs, urbis - “city” 
You must include the two derivations, “urban,” and “suburb.” You may 
choose your last derivation. ​ Study your Root Words for Fridays test on 
#61 - 80. Y ​ ou have the test in your packet. Use it as a study tool. Look it 
over. What are you missing? Then, on Friday, put away your root word 
cards and really take the test. That will tell you what you actually know. 
I’ll provide a key on Monday for you to correct it.   
 
Wordly Wise:​ Finish 19E and be prepared to correct all activities on 
Friday. We will also have our test on that day. 
Math:  
○ Complete Z​ earn lesson 5.4 (all activities) Y
​ ou will practice using 
the standard algorithm of Length x Width x Height to calculate

volume in units cubed ( units )

​ o the homework pages in packet 5.4, and use the 
answer key in Google Classroom to check your answers (You do 
not have to do the problem set, but you may for extra practice)  
○ Eureka: D​ o the Exit Ticket and ​put your answers into Assistments 
○ Correct your Math Assessment - B ​ y Friday, please use the 
Assessment Key posted in Google Classroom to correct your 
assessment. Share your graded test with your parents. If you 
have questions, come to a morning Office Hour/Math Zoom to 
get them answered.

(Read Chapter 14 before our meeting. Make notes in your journal 
and be ready to share!)

Writing:​ Writers, please make sure you have finished your slides and are 
working on writing your speech so you know what you will say for each 
slide. Remember, this is due Friday. We will record our Genius Talks 
next week. 
 
 
Science​-​ Scientists, today we will review our Gravity scope for our ​5-question 
multiple choice quiz tomorrow. 
1. Fill in the end of scope column for the “​ Phenomena” in your journal​- 
what have you learned about: ​Why is the direction of gravity 
downward toward earth?   
2. Please complete the C​ oncept Attainment Quiz​ in STEMscopes. 
3. Please complete the​ Concept Review Game​ in STEMscopes. 
4. I suggest rereading your STEMscopedia and looking over your 
vocabulary.
