1.1 ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) : See Att #1

1880년 Steam Boiler와 압력 용기류에 대한 설계, 제작, 검사 및 안전 등의

제반 규정 설정을 목적으로 설립되었다. 그러나 1980년 부터 ANSI
(American National Standards Institute)와의 부분적인 통합을
실시하면서 현재 배관, Valve 및 그 연관 기계 부품의 영역까지 Cover하고
있습니다.

1.2 API (American Petroleum Institute) : See Att #2

1911년 설립되어 주로 Oil 및Natural Gas에 대한 제반 규정 설정을

목적으로 설립되었습니다. 배관에서는 주로 Pipe 및 Valve 류에 대하여
API를 적용하고 있습니다.

NOTE
1. NPS (Nominal Pipe Size) is a dimensionless designator that has been substituted in the customary units section for the term Inch Nominal Size.
2. DN (Nominal Diameter) is a dimensionless designator used in the SI (metric) system to describe pipe size.
3. The suffix "S" in the Schedule Number is used to differentiate B36.19M pipe form B36.10M pipe. ANSI/ASME b36.10M includes other pipe thicknesses which are
also commercially available with the stainless steel material.
4. The Schedule No. with Italic letters is not used in GS E&C's standard wall thickness call out.

Notes :
(1) Upon prolonged exposure to temperatures above about 800℉(427℃), the carbide phase of carbon steel may be
converted to graphite.
(2) Only killed steel shall be used above 850℉(454℃).
(4) Use normalized and tempered material only.
(5) At temperatures over 1000℉(538℃), use only when the carbon contents is 0.04% or higher.
(6) For temperatures above 1000℉(538℃), use only if the material is heat treated by heating it to a temperature of at
least 1900℉(1038℃) and quenching in water or rapidly cooling by other means.
(9) Use solution annealed material only.
(10) The chemical composition, mechanical properties, heat treating requirement, and grain size requirements shall
conform to the applicable ASTM specification. The manufacturing procedures, tolerances, tests, certification, and
markings shall be in accordance with ASTM B 564.
