Universal Design for Learning Principles
Multiple Means of Engagement: Students will be given a brain break during instruction to
collect their thoughts and re-engage. They will also be given an “exit ticket” at the end of the
class in order for them to show they have learned something.
Multiple Means of Representation: Each student will be able to use a computer or pen and paper
to write their source. They can use the text to speech option to type and they have the option of
e-mail the sheet to their teacher. Accommodations will be made for those students who struggle
with Standard English to use text to speech and dictation programs in order to write their claims.
Multiple Means of Action and Expression: Students can find online tools to help them with
citation formats, these include but are not limited to citation generators. They will also be able to
find sources from other books as well as online.
