Week One - Context

CONTEXT

How did you find coming up
with an idea that challenged
you enough for your FMP?
I didn’t find this process too difficult as I already knew that I
would like my FMP to be based around a topic that interests
me and could be presented in a way that appeals to a wider
group of people. The decision to portray the topic through a
factual programme seemed like the most practical to me
despite providing a challenging amount of research to
complete in order to ensure the project can be accurate as
possible.

How has writing a proposal
helped you with finalising
your idea?
Writing the entire proposal for this production really made
me feel confident that this was the kind of production that I
wanted to do and had the ability to do well. The rationale
allowed me to reflect on my previous work and analyse
where I could improve. Discussing the concept for my factual
programme provided me with specific aims and how they
could be achieved.

How did the feedback help
you adapt your idea – what
did you change after
feedback?
The feedback that I attainted from my survey helped me to
ensure that the subject that I hoped to tackle was as
interesting to my target audience as it was to me. However,
overall it did not sway my decision to stick with the topic of
physical media in music and what caused it’s rapid decline in
popularity in recent years.
