3. User Maintained
Camping is free at these sites and users provide the majority of upkeep at the site. Campers are asked
to respect the forest environment and pack out whatever they pack in. The ministry will pump toilets,
remove hazard trees and replace signs and other structures where necessary. Structures and access
will not be removed unless there are significant ongoing public safety hazards or environmental
concerns.
All sites are on a first-come first-served basis. There is no reservation and there are no camping
passes.
Note: The information in the lists of recreation sites is subject to change as new partnership agreements
to manage recreation sites are signed.

Chute Lake Access to Chute lake recreation site is either from the Kelowna
side via the old KVR railway line - can be rough - or from
Penticton along the Naramata road. From the south stay to your
right at Naramata and travel until you come to a right turn on to
the Chute lake access road which is a good road and should be
signed with the Chute lake resort sign. The rec site is a well
developed campsite with 4 campsites, outhouse and a gravel
boat launch. Attractive small lake suitable for cat-top boats and
canoes. Set in narrow valley surrounded by forested slopes and
rocky outcrops. Extensive wetland at north end provided
opportunities for wildlife viewing. The abandoned KVR rail
line runs along the west shore with easy access to the resort.
Good family fishing lake.
