 Welcome to IOGCA 2020

Upstream and downstream oil and gas industry both produce and deal with chemicals. At the same
time, Chemistry and Chemicals play an important role in their operations. Drilling, Well completion, Well
stimulation, Water shut off, Mercaptan scavenger, Paraffin dispersant, Paraffin inhibitor, Paraffin control
agents, Fluid loss control additives, Cementing additives, flow assurance, Crude oil demulsification,
Corrosion inhibition, Effluent treatment, Microbiological controls, Injection water treatment, Enhanced oil
recovery etc. make good use of chemicals in upstream oil and gas drilling and production. In downstream
processes, they play role in catalysis, lubricants and greases, additives, absorption and adsorption,
cleaning systems, cracking and fuel technology, heat exchange systems, sludge handling, H2S scavenging,
pipeline transportation, solvents, polymers, corrosion inhibition, effluent treatment, microbiological issues
etc. Chemicals are used as an oxygen scavenger, corrosion inhibitor, biocide, demulsifier, surfactants
in several operations, solvents, paraffin inhibitor and dispersant, pour point depressant, drag reducer,
polyelectrolyte, defoamer, deoiler etc. A broad range of chemicals has been developed by researchers
and service providers to meet the challenges and provide new avenues. Chemistry of crude oil and water
plays an important role in most of these applications of chemicals and hence their detailed analysis and
characterization will also form a part of the discussion of this conference.

This is the 3rd edition of the conference on Indian Oil & Gas Chemistry, Chemicals and Additives. Both
the 1st & 2nd editions were highly successful with a good growth in number of participants, speakers and
branding partners. In the 2nd edition 70 plus Speakers, 260 plus Delegates and 125 plus companies
from various countries, delegates from Delegates from USA, China, Dubai, Germany, Malaysia, Saudi
Arabia, Sri Lanka, Turkmenistan, Abu Dhabi etc., were present along with many branding partners. The
conference was fairly represented by different segments from upstream and downstream, including users,
researchers, asset owners, business facilitators, and manufacturers.
