Drug-Induced Homicide Laws: Public Health Impacts of Prosecution for Opioid-Related


Harms
In this study we will be exploring possible impacts of the implementation of drug-induced
homicide laws (which allow for a charge of homicide or manslaughter for distribution of a
controlled substance resulting in a fatal overdose) and developing novel evaluation strategies to
track the impact of this legislation

opioid use disorder—carried out with the goal of identifying best practice standards.
