BOHAI 2___________: The boy’s younger brother had a short little name—WING.

HONG 4__________: The two brothers liked to play outside while their father washed
the clothes in the River.

DEMING 5__________: One day the 2 boys were playing too close to a well and Wing fell
in. (whistle).
JINHAI 6__________: His brother ran to the father who was by the river.

BINGWEN 1__________: The old man slept on, so he used his very loud voice.

BOHAI 2________ __: The old man woke up.

Old man : What, What happened to your brother? (Sleepy)

BOHAI 3________ __: When the old man heard about Wing, he grabbed
his long rope and hobbled to the well.
BOJING 4_______ ___: The man threw the rope over the side of the well
and went down in to the well and up climbed poor wet Wing. Wing coughed a little
cough and soon felt fine.

well again and this time the brother with the long name fell in to the well! (whistle)
Wing ran to his father who was by the river.

QUAN 13__________: The old man grabbed his long rope and hobbled to the well. He
threw the rope into the well but nobody climbed up.
ZIAN 14__________: The old man went down in to the well and slowly carried the boy
up the rope.
YUNRU 15__________: The boy was very full of water so the old man pushed and
pushed the water out of him.
RENSHU 16__________: Poor Tikki Tikki Tembo No Sa Rembo Chari Bari Ruchi Piperi
Pembo had been in the well for many hours because his name had been too long to
say!
GUOWEI 11__________: When Tikki Tikki Tembo No Sa Rembo Chari Bari Ruchi Piperi
Pembo felt better his father decided to give him a short little name.
XIAOWEN 12__________: He called him Tick, and Wing was happy that his name was
just Wing.
QUAN 13__________: After that, all the kids made sure to always listen to their parents.
ZIAN 14__________: Because they always know what’s best for us.
YUNRU 15_________: And Chinese fathers from that day on have given short names to
all of their children. So… all’s well that ends well don’t you think?
