Printouts with handwritten candidate details on will not be marked.
If you have produced rough copies of printouts, put a neat cross through each one to indicate that it is not
the copy to be marked.
The number of marks is given in brackets [ ] at the end of each question or part question.

Task 1 - Database
You are now going to prepare some reports for the company.

1 Using a suitable database package, import the file N14INPUT.CSV [6]


The Min_Stock field is not required.
Make sure all currency values are in Euros with two decimal places.

The company needs to reorder input devices that are getting low on stock. Items are reordered when below a
minimum stock level and the Reorder quantity is used to place the order.

4 Produce a report which: [13]


 contains a new field called Item_Value which is calculated at run-time. This field will
calculate the Cost_Price multiplied by the Reorder field
 has the Item_Value field set as currency
 shows only the records where the number of items in stock (Stock) is less than 10
 shows all specified fields and their labels in full (Do not display the Notes field)
 fits on a single page wide
 has a page orientation of landscape
 sorts the data into ascending order of Make
 calculates the value of the whole order and
– shows this value at the bottom of the Item_Value column
– formats this value as currency
– has the label Value of order to the left of this value
 includes the title Order for new mice at the top of the page
 has your name, Centre number and candidate number on the left at the bottom of the
report.

Make sure that you have entered your name, Centre number and candidate number on your
report.

6 Produce an report from all the data which: [7]


 selects only those activities:
− which include Ski or Snow
− located in France
− where the Rating is 5
 shows only the fields Activity, Course_Code, Course_Cost in this order
 sorts the Course_Cost in descending order.

Task 2 - Presentation
You are now going to work on a presentation.

10 Create a new presentation using the file N14PRES.RTF. [4]


This should contain five slides with bullet points.
Delete any blank slides.
11 On the master slide place: [8]
 Pale yellow background
 two thick vertical lines with 3 pt and dark blue colour towards the right hand side
 your name, Centre number and candidate number at the bottom on the left
 the slide number at the bottom right.
 Keep date on top left corner
Make sure that no items on any slide overlap each other.
12 Change the layout of slide one to title and subtitle. [3]
Add the text: Presentation by: and your name as the subtitle.

13 Set the same transition between the slides. [3]

Place screenshot evidence of the transitions in your evidence document.

14 Set the bullets on all slides to appear one by one [4]


Change the bullet style to square shape
Change the colour of bullet to red.

15 Print all slides as audience notes, with 6 slides per page. [2]

16 Create two more slides for the presentation. Each slide must have: [6]

o the contents of the slides should explain:
– What is the use of presentation?
– How is audience notes useful?
