Hey everyone, Peurpdapeurp here.

So I usually don't type descriptions for videos I post on this channel, but I think
this one warrants it as it's the first major project that I've completed.

The general goals I had with this set of arrangements were as follows:
1) Make each cover as dense as possible, as in have as many different musical
ideas, variations, and arrangement techniques as I could without making the cover
sound over arranged (although apparently a lot of people think I failed in that
sense, haha).
2) Incorporate jazz style, particularly the arranged quasi-jazz style of Nikolai
Kapustin, into all of the covers. I wanted to a set of jazz style covers because I
think that on the whole, the Youtube piano cover community (particularly the anime
piano cover community) has done a poor job of incorporating jazz into their covers,
and I want this set of arrangements to serve as an example of what I believe is a
more "correct" way of doing it.
3) Reuse as few techniques and ideas between covers as possible. Basically, I
wanted every cover here to sound distinct from the others, so that they would make
sense to put together in a set.

I think all in all it's not a bad first attempt. The playing is pretty rough and
the transcriptions are probably inaccurate at parts, but I think what this project
lacks in clean execution it makes up for in novelty; you probably haven't heard any
covers like this before.

I'm likely going to be making more of these in the future, but as of now I am
completely burned out of doing these, so I'm going to try doing some other musical
projects until I feel like making more covers in this way.

Also, in the past I've had the bad habit of deleting things on my channel, but I'm
definitely going to keep this one up, just because of the response I got here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9A3dhXFuvA. These arrangements aren't perfect by
any stretch, but they are competent and better than most other piano arrangements
on this platform. In time, the people who berated me in this video's comments will
realize this. That being said, I certainly don't mind the response; it actually
makes me happy that people could get this riled up about a piano cover, as it means
they're passionate about the art form.

Last but not least, thank you for reading / listening, and I hope you and your
loved ones are staying safe amidst the Covid-19 outbreak.

Until next time,

Peurpdapeurp

P.S. Completely unrelated, but if you haven't read The Wind-up Bird Chronicle by
Haruki Murakami, I'd highly recommend it.
