Dear President Trump,

I am writing you today in regards to the ever growing issue of

global warming and depletion of our natural resources. Our
goal at Lehigh Solar is to spread knowledge of the benefits of
utilizing solar panels. We take pride in knowing that we are
doing everything we can to protect the future of our planet, but
we need your assistance in order to make a real difference
across the entire country.
Finding a reliable source of energy has been a problem that
every country has been trying to solve for as long as any of us
can remember. We are here to tell you that we have found a
solution. The sun is the most abundant energy source available
to us, producing enough energy in a single day to cover the
energy needs of our entire world 10,000 times. In addition to
covering any and all energy needs, solar energy is pollution and
often noise free. This will assist in our global warming issue
without any loud noises annoying neighbors. The noise free
aspect of the panels allows anybody and everybody to have
them. Individual family houses have the ability to utilize solar
energy without disturbing anyone nearby.

Solar energy can be used for numerous everyday tasks.

Outdoor lighting, cooking, ventilation fans, and heaters for

swimming pools are just a few of the less utilized abilities of
solar energy. The sun has the capability to power entire homes
or office buildings though too. Water heaters, general house or
building heaters, pumps running through the building and
charging batteries are the more well-known uses for solar
power. Any number of these systems would have the ability to
cut costs of a person or businesses bills by 50 percent or more.
This incentive has caused a surge of solar energy usage.

The generation of solar energy has more than doubled over the
last 18 years. There have been other good improvements
made to the solar energy industry too. Prices for solar panels
for individuals have gone down by 50 percent and solar power
is proving its worth by being economically competitive with
other, more commonly used, energy sources. However, it is still
not enough to cover the energy uses of the country. Currently
solar energy is only used for 1.6 percent of the energy needs of
Americans. Renewable energy sources only account for 11
percent of total energy usage in the United States.

We at Lehigh Solar believe that this is where the problem of

global warming begins. Too many of the resources we use are
fossil fuels that contribute to the thinning of our world’s
atmosphere. Lehigh Solar believes that the change to solar
energy will be the smoothest and most effective for our
country. This change needs to begin with you.

Already, 5 states have committed to using 100 percent

renewable energy by the year 2045. I believe that this should
be mandated for any state that has sunny days more than half
the year. Any state that sees that much sun can easily supply
enough solar energy to cover the energy needs of their state.
