OBITUARY NOTICE
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is with our deepest sorrow that Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI) announce the
passing of our President, Ar. Ahmad Djuhara. Mas Djuhara, as we used to call him,
began to develop symptoms in middle of March 2020. He experienced shortness of
breath and died while being threated at RSPI Prof. Dr. Sulianti Saroso, on March
27th, 2020.
Indonesian Institute of Architects has lost a visionary Leader with remarkable energy,
but most of all, we lost a friend, mentor and a great discussion partner who is always
eager and tirelessly thinking about developing Indonesian Architecture and
Architecture profession in Indonesia.
Mas Djuhara passed away in exactly a month after the commenced of the 1st
ARCH:ID at ICE BSD, an event that he had envisioned of for a long time. We will
continue and strive to uphold his ideas in the coming years as a tribute to his services
and dedication for the development of Indonesian Architecture and Architecture
profession in Indonesia.
Mas Djuhara has taken several Covid test. The first test on March 20th, 2020 stated
negative result. The result of the second and third test has not been released by the
hospital until today. Therefore we can not provide the exact information yet. On behalf
of the National Committe of IAI, we strongly advised to all of us to always take care of
our health, and to take a medical check up whenever there are improper symptoms.
