OUR BRAND
Hype-Bedes is the brand name we
use for this fashion design Capstone
project. The meaning for the words
Hype-Bedes are first, Hype as we
know this word means the thing
that look fabulous and cool and the
word Bedes we bring this word
from Dibedes. Yes it is from the
name of disease. Dibedes is the
disease the overdosed of sugar. So
we combined these two words
together and get the new meaning
"The ovedosed of fabulous" HYPE-BEDES
This brand founded by
Tien,Ploy,Nat,Neat, and SK. The group of
high school students that interested in
fashion design. We are from different

WORK
10 December 2018 - It was the first that we all gathered around and
met with Mr.Big. We talked briefly about what the project is about
and what’s going to happen in the future. We told him what we
wanted our collection to look like. He advised us what things should
be on the project and divided up the work. We all first assigned to do
our own mood board, kind of clothing you personally like, to see
each individual preference and style.
6
LOG
6-21 April 2019 - Each of the members work on their own collection.
We were researching, sketching, designing, and drawing our
collection. After that we wrote background research, description of
the collection, and reflection. Last step, we uploaded all of our work
online.
14 may 2019 - We met up with Mr. Big again to get some feedbacks
about our collection. There were only minor changes that had to be
fixed. The only big thing that left to do was combining all our
collections together in one magazine. Mr.Big talked about what the
magazine should look like and made an appointment on when the
presenting date will be.

SPRING
SUMMER
2018
Background Research
S pring summer 2018 fashion had been a
blast. There were so many interesting
trends coming out this season, the one
that were already introduced to the
fashion industry and the one that gave a shock
face to the audiences. Like Phoebe Philo said “If
there is anything to say at the moment, let it be
with love. Let it be joyful.” That translated
literally as clothes to party in – sparkles, tassels,
feathers – and to wiggle in – pencil skirts, sheer
layers, fantastic plastics. But it also seeped into
the sedentary staples which form the foundations
of our wardrobes: trench coats, denim, slip dress.
The top trends of spring summer 2018 fashion
were ice cream girl, denim redux, trench dressing,
decent exposure, crayola brights, plastic
fantastic, pencil skirts, extra textures, short order,
and new wave slip. Looking through all of these Pithers, E. (2017, October 02). Why Shorts Are

Trench dressing was extraordinary. Said
Ellie Pithers & Julia Hobbs, “Take one
wardrobe basic, and pimp it” is as good a
policy as any for spring. Star of the shows
was the trench coat, which was exquisitely
updated via metallic-threaded rose
embroidery and raw edges at Alexander
McQueen; deconstructed and deified at
Margiela; and duplicated, then joined at the
hem to comprise a cape-topper to a tailored
under-coat at Céline. The earth tone colour
is my favorite thing. The trench coat gets

Next is pencil skirt. “Fashion is like eating, you
shouldn’t stick to the same menu” said Kenzo
Takada. Prada is no stranger to sassy polish - the
sort of truly ageless elegance that Europeans do so
well. Her perfect style equation of nipped-in pencil
skirt plus natty kitten heel is now fast becoming a
statement of Milan's new style direction. Three days
in, and the pillars of Milan Fashion Week - Gucci,
Fendi, Max Mara and Prada - are bringing back the
Fifties wardrobe staple, subject to modern revisions.

The last one is short order, this is the one that I’m
personally interested in. Divide this trend into two
categories: casual shorts, maybe in leather or silk;
and cycling shorts. The latter are the surprise
inclusion on the Paris runways, nifty go-faster
accoutrements to puffy party dresses (see Saint
Laurent) and streetwise daywear (Chloé) that
suddenly have currency -- if you have twiglets for
legs, of course. Far more appealing an option are
trusty short trousers, high-waisted and worn with
metallic blouses at Isabel Marant, hot-pant styles
with a distinctly futuristic edge at Paco Rabanne, and
a bermuda iteration, cut lean and looking chic when
paired with slick double-breasted blazers at Off-
White.

There are many more interesting trends that I didn’t
mention. I chose only the trends that I am familiar
with and think they will be useful for my collection. I
really like shorts trend and I’m very grateful that
cycling shorts came back this season because I like
playing sports and I want to put that athleticism
vibes into my collection.

COLLECTION
DESCRIPTION
My collection is meant to be worn to a party,
so I designed my clothes for people to wear on
different circumstances. Each of my designs
have their own concepts.
13
My second outfit is the one that represent
me the best. I want to put athleticism,
coolness, and everyday-look vibes into the
outfit. By that being said, I chose to use
cycling shorts. The outfit is for a situation
that you just finish working out and going
to a party afterward. The inspiration came
from Kim Kardashian’s cycling shorts
outfit that I found on the internet. The
outfit consists of a free size white plain
thin tank top, a tartan plaid orchid wool
jacket, black cycling shorts printed a word,
HYPE, on the left side of the shorts,
crescent moon shape yellow earrings,
crescent moon shape yellow necklace,
over the calf red socks, and low-top yellow
sneakers.

Reflection
Let me tell you the story of our group first. At the
beginning, I wasn’t expect to do anything about
fashion at all. I teamed up with Nat and we were just
planning to simply design a shirt that represent us
and sell it. Nat designs a shirt and I sell it. That’s all
we thought literally! But we heard that Tien and
Songkang had a similar idea, so we teamed up with
them and at some point, Ploy joined our group. Our
group chose Aj.Rodsuk to be our mentor because he
is a wise teacher and knows a lot about fashion. At
that time, around October 2018, we were so
enthusiastic about capstone project. We were
brainstorming and thinking what should be on our
collection. We were trying to do it as fast as possible,
so we would have time to sell it. Eventually, we put all
the ideas together and sketched the costume out. (I
think Nat already threw it away.) Suddenly
Aj.Rodsuk told us to wait, so we waited...
20
This work is very challenging for me because I
know nothing about fashion and most
importantly, I can’t draw. Fortunately, my
teammates are very supportive, especially Nat,
she helped me on drawing part. In return, I
helped her on information part. At the beginning,
I struggled a lot. I didn’t how to start, so I started
looking through all the trends first and finding
the right trends that suit me. Once I got a hang of
it, I did my mood board and background research
and then sketched. My sketch was horrible, so I
called Nat. Big thanks to her, I told her I can’t
draw and she was so kind. I was cooperating with
her and told her what I wanted my collection to
be like and she drew it for me! Without her, my
work would look like a 9-years-old work. And I
wrote the last two and wrapped up all my work.
Done!

YOUTHFUL
BACKGROUND RESEARCH
In autumn winter 2018, many brands concerned about
the women power. Numerous designers discussed the
idea protection, explored most literally with Hazmat suits
and boots from Calvin Klein, and they also grabbed the
idea of clothes as an armor. They designed a leather
dresses and head-to-toe animal print. The armor theory
was posited most eloquently by Sarah Burton, who talked
about "all the expressions of femininity", but with the
characteristic honesty that meant she responded to a
question about whether a bombastic pink fringed dress
was a moment of feminist reckoning with.[1] For clothes
in this year, there were many fabulous collections. This
year was not exactly as same as before. In general, color
tone for winter season is mostly be like earth tone, to
example brown, ash, nude, and grey, but a vivid and
multicoloring trend was added. Because of the idea
empowerment of women, all designer emphasized and Elie Saab. (n.d.). Haute Couture - Fall

are animal instinct, leather, cape flattery, silver bullet,
tweed, pleats, silk, loco logo, double whammy, tuxedo
dresses, and more.
A trend that most stand out is animal printing. Animal
print prowled over an astonishing amount of runways
across NYC, London, Milan, and Paris like a Noah's ark
for only the chicest passengers. Leopard-print coats and
leopard-print shoes will undoubtedly be the two most
prevalent ways this trend presents itself in fast fashion,
but there's an abundance of snake and python patterns,
zebra, cheetah, faux-croc—some of which come in classic,
neutral tones, but there are more wild and wonderful
multi-colored versions out there too. I love this trend so
much because It can show how wildness and power of

24
The next interesting trend is cape
flattery.[3] You can't blame designers
for taking the empowerment brief
literally: with a renewed focus on
crusading women in politics, film and
fashion comes a fresh love affair with
the cape. Beloved of superheroes,
opera-goers and Capuchin monks, it's
the elegant update on the puffer your
wardrobe never knew it needed. I’m
interested in this trend because it can
create many looks to customers:
adorable, cool, or sexy.
25
Next trend is using pleat. Pleat can make our dress or skirt
look more luxury. From the chorus line to centre stage, here
come the knife-pleats, high-kicking their way into your new
season shopping basket with uncompromising attitude.
Wear them with trousers, wear them with chunky-soled
creepers, or wear them with a fluffy jumper and a bike chain
of a necklace, just don't wear them with a delicate blouse.
These pleats have bite. I think that this trend is so elegant
because it is made from gauzy fabric which can flew
through the air while moving. good opportunity to be an
inspiration for creating our collections.

COLLECTION DESCRIPTION
My collection came from the trends occurred in Autumn Winter 2018 that combine
with our brand concept, which are cool, sexy, and party-acceptable, and my own
style. I designed a tone of clothes to be more colorful to make it stand out of
Therefore, I designed three brand new women clothes for three different people
personalities, but still on the our concept.
27
The third design is for a sporty girl or a
person who in love with cool street
clothes. There is a hoodie jacket and
jumped leg trousers that have same
pattern print , black bralette inside the
jacket, black belt that have a gold brand
buckle. For trousers, there are two fabric
bands written HYPE-BEDES swaddle in
each leg. The pattern of the jacket and
trousers is show the signature of the
brands with a logo that I make it look
interesting. Because of street style, this
design can show how to be yourself.

Reflection
Tien asked me if I was interested in doing
fashion design with him and Songkang, so
I thought it was a great idea to start my
project because I had never done a fashion
design before, so I agree. Neat was the next
person who joined the group because he’s
interested to do about a marketing. I
planned that he would be able to organize
some business stuff, I would be a designer,
and Tien and Songkang would be designer
and adviser. Tien saw that Ploy would have
an interesting idea for doing the design
and some commercial. He asked Ploy if she
was interesting to help our group and she
agree to help. We have five members in our
group. We move to the next step which is
choosing mentor for our project. We
agreed and decided that Aj.Rodsak would
be the best teacher that can support us
because he was good at fashion and design.
Our group start to begin the project by planning about what our collection would
be, the theme of collection, and etc. Then, we started to brainstorm and sketch some
idea in the paper. First, we decided that we would use the name Metaphor to be our
brand, then we changed to be HYPE-Bedes later. Our brand signature is flower. In
each member would have their own flower to express themselves through the
meaning of the flower. The sketch paper would be our design with our own style. I
felt that it was very fun because I can design my clothes whatever I want. I had
designed denim jacket, T-shirt, and more.
34
The road was not easy to go, when Aj. Rodsak
came to give some advices. I realized that being
a designer was harder than I thought. I had to
do a mood board, the board with our fashion
icon and some inspiration, research and learn
about the foundation of fashion, and predict
that what way the world of fashion would go in
the future. I felt that it was quite hard because
I didn’t understand about the fashion at all.
Finally, I used my best ability to work on it and
it’s work. Sadly, because we ran out of time, we
were not able to manufacture our product and
sell it.

BACKGROUND RESEARCH
In common, spring summer fashion
trends are mostly colorful and come in
flower-patterned. Fashion trends in
2019 that I have found for my spring
summer season was an interesting
theme to create my collection. From the
Harpers Bazaar website, the standout
trends in this year that the website
recommend are Tie-dye, sunshine
shades, shorts, ruched dresses, bow,
tuxedos, leotards, and ruffles style.[1]
But in Thetrendspotter introduce Bike
Shorts with Blazers on the trend.[2] As I
spot other websites, I found that The
Trendspotters and Cosmopolitan
recommend another trend that
Harpersbazaar didn’t post about which
is Neon color and Animal print.[3]
Neon trends were catching for my

In most of the website that I have searching tie-dye is the most rising trend that
most website recommends but there is still another trend on another website
that they took a survey on runway and brand website. The style that grabs my
attention in most sources is Crochet dress, 8o’s fashion, and the Collector.
Crochet Dress is introduced in some web as Victoria Beckham, Altuzarra, and
Chole use it to outline the collection. The 80’s Fashion is also back on the path
such as the 80’s Golden Girl create a disco look and metallic style giving you a
Party essential look and Perfect Paisley which is a pattern from the bohemian
look or mostly known as Paisley pattern. [4]
38
Paisley pattern is one of the stunning patterns and it
can be express and can fuse with another style.
Alexander Wang, Etro, and Chole are an example of a
brand that uses Perfect Paisley. Brushstroke is like a
pattern of paintbrush which gives a refreshing and
entertaining twist in this season using by Milly,
Moschino and Dries Van Noten brand.[5] The collector
is another appealing style that awakens people who
like to collect stuff.[6] I think it gives an enthusiastic
feeling about a design for some designer. The brand
that uses The collector is Roberto Cavalli, Mary
Katrantzou, and Jermy Scott.

I took research in some brand website such as Jaspal, Prada, Jour/Ne, and Off white
and it state that “This season's tie-dye is elevated and fashion forward with
sophisticated colors to suit any wardrobe.”[8]. I agree with the rising of tie-dye in
this spring summer fashion trend. Not only tie-dye in Jaspal collection but also two
styles of flower pattern are used to create a collection in this season. Not only Jaspal
but also Prada and Jour/Ne that are using tie-dye in their collection. Off White have
an vivacious but also gentle and modern collection as they use lively neon color on
plain color such as blue neon pattern on black. This brand also use animal print fuse
with neon color which is really surprising and remarkable.

oming trend in this season have
a very cheerful and fascinated
feeling as the color and pattern
provide energetic, refreshing,
and playful. We can play many things
and come up with many pattern and
unique design that attract customer.
Our brand Hyperbetes have a cool and
sexy design that also gives you a ready
look for the party. I was searching for
many information to create my
collection in spring-summer 2019. Tie-
dye and Neon are outstanding for me as
they can use to create many styles of
outfits that can match without brand
themes. These two trends can adapt to
many types of fabric and they can use to
create a variety of pattern. As tie-dye can
be use in creative way, I think it can be
used in my design and it is suited with
the style of our brand. Neon can use to
brighten up the collection and build a
playful feeling creating more fun and
party look. The trends that are coming
up this season can be added in for little
detail like crochet and paint brush.

Reflection
In the beginning, my first thought for
capstone is a filming project. I plan to do
with my friend from another class name
Best. Then the next step Tien ask me if I was
interested in designing and taking a photo
for the capstone. I have my last decision as I
was talking to Best that our idea has a little
chance to pass in the project. We decided to
split and I decided to join Tien group that
have Neat Nat and Songkang. Starting of this
group is around October 2018 which we
were very active and try to design and draft
our idea. My friend that if we have time we
will do the selling stuff because it was a
chance for us to start our business. I also
thought about doing commercial and layout
varieties of design. We agree with our group
to choose Aj. Rodsuk as our mentor because
he knows a lot about fashion. As we put our
idea together in my sketchbook and some
scratch paper, Aj. Rodsuk asked us to waited
and he will assign the work to us. The project
should be step by step if we layout while we
don’t have a goal or an endpoint it would be
hard to get us in shape and may lose the
track.
For the starting of our project, we begin before summer holiday which is in April
2019. We were assigned to do individual research and sketch in the same themes
but different trends and season. This way of doing the project give us to get the
opportunity to create our own design and express our ideas but we still in the
same themes and group. Even the process of work didn’t come out as the first we
expect but I still enjoy this project because I like to draw and design things.
49
I found some problem in this work but
I would like to talk about the main one.
First, it is very hard to imagine clothes
and draw it out. Second, I have a low
skill in matching the design and the
following fashion because in my real
life I usually wear only a T-shirt and
short. Last problem that very hard for
me is to understand the fashion
concept and put in the small detail.
Even it has a lot of problems but I still
can overcome it with my friends help.
50
I never design a collection or any outfits before, so
this project is so challenging for me to upgrade my
skill and overcome the tasks I never predict to met.
I usually draw a portrait of object and human also I
really like to draw cartoon and doodle art. Taking
pictures is my first task for me if people ask what I
am capable of but drawing is another of my skill
that I efficient with. I think I can do many things
but I am not a professional in any of it. This project
helps me to find my skill and improve myself to
another step of my future. My drawing and process
of my ideas in thinking improve. I also get my new
skill in drawing and design. I am very sure for
using those skill in my nearly future.

BACKGROUND RESEARCH
As I have researched from the internet, I founded that the fashion trend in Autumn
Winter 2019 would be about minimal especially. Some of them used 1980s inspirations
in their collection also.
From Autumn Winter 2018 I found that the
fashion trend would not change that much in
2019. The trends are focusing on one pattern,
leathers, and pointed shoes. The thing that
different between 2018 and 2019 is in 2018 they
usually design the dress in the oversize look but
2019 is slim and fit in. In addition, 2019 will use
more of feathering on dress. That would be nice
for this year because we will see the dresses with
a cool texture this year. I think that I still can use The Ultimate Fall/Winter 2018-2019 Trend
Report. (n.d.). Retrieved from
the ideas from last year in my collection. https://www.azyaamode.com/en/the-ultimate-

They also said that for many seasons we use a lot of tiny thing as an accessory such
as bag and shoes. For this year Autumn Winter will have a Giant Bags as the main
accessory. I would say that it quite strange to me that Giant Bags will have a big
effect in the fashion world in Autumn Winter 2019. Anyway, it would be nice with
the matching dresses and makeup.I think maybe I can use these sources to do
something new and challenge to me also.
54
Not only the flora pattern will be used in
the Autumn Winter 2019 but also the
Scott pattern. Last year guaranteed that
Scott patterns or clashing prints are very
popular and still keep going to Autumn

present the drama of this theme.

In addition, This collection is not only
for women, but it also has a unisex cloth
too. This collection is not only for her
but also for every woman who has a
strong confidant. This collection made
for the target of people ages around 18-
35 years old so most of the dresses in this
collecting would have a shape that fits in
the woman body in order to make the
dress more eye-catching and charming.
Most of the dress in this collection would

She is a professional in photography. So I

time.
For me, it is ok to do but it is a bit tuff for us to do a lot of things at the same time. I would
like to say that we are so lucky that we met each other and do this project together as a
team because in school we are from another section. We have no chance to do things
together.

I have done and learned a lot of fashion design skills so far. I thought of the
name of the brand. I gave a name as "Hype-Bedes" to present the overdose of
fashions being. I love the name. It is not too new and too old but it can make
the audience feel familiar with it. Everyone agreed and let Hype-Bedes be the
brand name for us. I have researched the background of my collection and
the themes of it. I start to find the trend of Autumn Winter.

BACKGROUND RESEARCH
As I researched from the internet and
fashion show. I found that in
spring/summer 2020 season the color
palette will base on pastel colors which
are mostly these colors:
• Neo-mint which represent the
combination of technology and future
world.
• Purist blue shows the cooling
sensation, crisp and contemporary.
• Cassis pink and purple tone shows
youth in women with romantic
personality.
• Cantaloupe shows the mood of
freshness, youthful, optimistic, uplifting
and rejuvenating.
• Mellow yellow let us feels the retro
vibes and a hint of vintage.
By the way the acid-pastel is also on
trend.

From the record of the high-ends brands.
Mostly of those brands use leather dress and
a print of flowers and carpet pattern to show
the sense of the season of spring and
summer. Furthermore, the high-end brand
also used furry jackets with not too much
layers, mostly 2 layers.
69
Laces on clothe will be trendy during the 2020
combine with the mood of romantic and sexy
will make women more interesting and
attractive.
Earth tone colors is also the tone of 2020 along
with the pastel color these two colors will be a
perfect match. I love these colors, I think these
colors express a lot of emotions of soft and
simple but a sense of fun and cool

DESCRIPTION
OF
THE Collection
In this collection of spring summer
2020 under the brand HYPE-BEDES
will be about the mix and match of
new era of clothing and antiques
tradition and artist. The color palette
and tone will be focus on pastel colors
that according to the theme of 2020
spring summer, which each of the
colors can
show various mood and emotions. I
want to create something new by
mixing the Mexico tradition and folk
culture also folk dance called the
Jarabe Tapatío or the other name as
Mexican hat dance with a street style
fashion to make some drama. Jarabe
Tapatío is a national Mexican dance
where the female dancer’s wearing a
vibrant colors dresses with the wide
skirt and blouse which is colorful and
fully decorated. In this point, I would
like to change the vibrant color to be a
soft pastel but still look modern and
had impact. This collection mood’s
will depend on the color and people
perspective but the main mood of this
collection is feminism and a hint of
71
sexiness.
Frida Kahlo was a Mexican artist who was
considered one of Mexico's greatest artists who
began painting mostly on self-portraits after
she was severely injured in a bus accident. Frida
Kahlo is very inspiring and has an impact on
CHIFFON feminist motivation and very active in
politically, activism, social issues and sexual
identity. She also painted a lot of meaningful
paintings while she was injured. Frida Kahlo
was a woman who stand for other woman and
MANTA WEAVE show feminisms and she also interested in
politics and stands for other people. As Frida
were born in Mexico and she’s an artist who
mostly painted an art piece that were inspired
by nature and artifacts and country popular
cultures. In that case, I was very hooked to the
art of the Mexican and used she as my fashion
icon. Thus, in this collection will be mostly the
pattern and the color tone of Frida’s paintings
and Mexican textiles. According to the
spring/summer 2020 fashion trend that said
that the folk culture pattern is the new fashion.
In conclusion, this collection will be just 3 best
sketches on the spring/summer 2020 under the
EMBROIDERED theme of “fusión”

Reflection
When I heard that I have a to do capstone
project, the first topic that popped in my
head is fashion design. Therefore, I
personally interested in fashion styling
and designing and I think that I’ll be
doing my best to make this happen. I was
interested in this topic for a long time.
Then I thought it would be nice for my
portfolio for my future college. Thus,
capstone is one of my opportunity to do
this and make it happen. At first, I
thought I’ll do this on my own but
eventually I found my friends who were
interested in the same topic as me. So, we
formed a group of 5 and work separately
by making a fashion magazine. In my part
of designing clothes I’m doing the spring
summer collection of the year 2020, which
is very challenging to me and pretty fun at
the same time. I have to plan what dress to
choose to be the best 3 designs of this
collection, it was a tough choice for me.
However, I chose the best one out of 17 of
them. In this work of fashion designing
and writing a paragraph about fashion
trends I gained a lot of experiences, know
lots about fashion trends, also I learned
how to manage my time to do this process,
because this process takes time and many
efforts.
