A proposal for approval of extension of time limit from 29.09.2011 to 15.01.2012 (109
days) without benefit of the price escalation for the work under captioned subject has been
submitted by the S.E., N.P. Canal Circle No.5, Gandhinagar vide his letter under reference. The
tender for the said work was approved in favour of M/s. K. C. Suthar, Modasa by the S.E., N.P. Canal
Circle No.5, Gandhinagar vide his letter No. NPCC-5/ AS(C)/TC/4416 dated 29.11.2010. The details of
work and tender is as under.

2.0 Agency could not complete the work within the stipulated time limit i.e. upto 28.09.2011.
Agency has applied for extension of time limit upto 15.01.2012 vide his letter dated 25.08.2011
stating the reasons for delay in completion of work. The reasons putforth by the agency for
extension of time limit are evaluated by the SE/EE and reasons considered for extension of time limit
are as under.

As the work has been completed on 15.01.2012 and the reasons for delay in completion of work are
not attributed to the agency, it is recommended to approve the extension of time limit from
29.09.2011 to 15.01.2012 i.e. 109 days without benefit of price escalation by the EE/SE. As there is
no provision of price escalation in the tender, there will not be any financial implication on account
of price escalation due to extension of time limit.
3.0 In accordance with the powers delegated vide Nigam’s circular No. CPC/ TLE/2011/646 dated
27.07.2011 to sanction the extension of time limit, where price adjustment is not involved, the Chief
Engineer is empowered to sanction the extension of time limit for the tenders amounting upto Rs. 3
crores subject to prior approval of the MD for extension beyond 4 (four) months.
