2020 03 25 Magical Notes
Any time we seek supernatural* (immaterial) help, or pursue the making, strengthening,
exercising or expression of a supernatural (immaterial) relationship, we are attempting a magical
operation.
Prayer is a subcategory of magic, known as theurgic magic, or magic in interaction with deity.
Answered prayers can be regarded as successful theurgic magic.
( ‘Supernatural’ is a difficult term to define under the prevailing scientific assumption that all
causes are and must be material causes. The use of the term here assumes 1) that ‘nature’ here
refers to materially detectable objects, forces, and events of material nature 2) that there are
‘higher’ or subtler or more complex levels of shared, objectively knowable reality than the
material-energic levels investigated by the physical sciences.
(Some and patterns of causes of real events cannot be described in strictly material terms. There
are in fact real, non-material, informational causes of material events — e.g. a false rumor that
starts an unwarranted panic. There may be many kinds of causes and patterns of causes that we
cannot detect or recognize (as humans could not until recently detect or recognize patterns in
most frequencies of electromagnetic field, or in the evolutionary behaviors of living
populations), but we can clearly see examples of such informational causes in the specific,
functional information that is encoded into the material substrates of DNA and of spoken and
written languages.
(It is common to say that the brain generates consciousness, but it does not generate the
information that is the ‘substance’ of consciousness. Matter is not the ‘substance’ of information
— it is more correct to say that information is the ‘substance’ of matter.
( under this usage, all symbolizing functions and symbolic causations are ‘supernatural’. Thus all
life, all existence organized around success-failure gradients (e.g. survival-extinction), is by
nature ‘supernatural’, as is all awareness, all feeling, all thought, all imagination, all learning.
What is generally thought of as ‘spiritual’ or ‘supernatural’ or something of the kind is in fact an
extension of the natural (and the physical) into dimensionalities of informational causation
beyond the mechanical and material.
a.1. The old witch-hunting manuals included a category of lawful enchanters who were to
be distinguished from witches and unlawful enchanters. The simplest way to understand the
distinction is that lawful enchanters 1) submit in all things to the will of God, 2) adhere to basic
principles of reciprocity (do unto others as you would have them do unto you, you reap what you
sow, everything has a cost, etc.), 3) work in general by invocation of angels and lawful forces,
not by evocation of unclean spirits or employment of unclean objects, ideas or energies.
d. mentally speaking, we’re a rock and God is an all-purpose laser (scanner, transmission
system, weapon, document printer, 3-D printer, etc. connected to a quantum computer the size of
a trillion trillion universes).
We’re a rock, and God is a laser, is a quantum computer, is a quantum-computer guided
all-purpose laser.
as an all-purpose laser (scanner, optic transmission system, weapon, document printer, 3-
D printer, etc., all in one) guided by a quantum computer the size of a trillion-trillion universes.
We are like one small circuit of quantum ‘neurons’ in that computer that is God’s ‘brain’.
Every nursery rime contains profound magical secrets which are open to every one who has
made a study of the correspondences of the Holy Qabalah. To puzzle out an imaginary meaning
for this ‘nonsense’ sets one thinking of the Mysteries; one enters into deep contemplation of holy
things and God Himself leads the soul to a real illumination.” — Aleister Crowley in Part II –

2. Defense Magic
Here is the special report you asked for. Try out any one of these five spells - and you will see...
Magick IS real!
Spell One: Ancient Greek Defense Spell
Inscribe the following above the door to protect your home or on a round, flat piece of stone to
carry with you as an amulet for personal protection:
The inscription means: "The son of Zeus.resplendent in victory, Heracles, lives here. Let no evil
enter."
Spell Two: Ancient Nordic Defense Spell
Create the below talisman and put your photo in the center of it. The Tyr rune is the rune of Tyr,
the Nordic God of protection. Using the secret formula of ancient Nordic rune Magick found on
Runestones found throughout Scandinavia, the Tyr rune is repeated 16 times.
Proclaim: "I beheld a great wonder in heaven, a woman clothed with the Sun, with the Moon at
her feet. And on her head was a diadem of the twelve stars. Hear me, O Lady Isis, hear and save.
O thou queen of love and mercy, thou crowned with the throne, thou hauled as with the Moon.
Thou whose countenance is mild and glowing, even as grass refreshed by rain. Hear me, our
Lady Isis, hear and save. O thou who art in matter manifest. Thou bride and queen as thou art
mother and daughter of the Slain One. O thou who art the Lady of the Earth. Hear me, O Lady
Isis, hear and save. O thou Lady of the amber skin. Lady of love and of victory, bright gate of
glory through the darkening skies. O crowned with the Light and life and love. Hear me, our
Lady, hear and save by thy sacred flower, the Lotus of eternal life and beauty; by thy love and
mercy; by thy wrath and vengeance; by my desire toward thee, by all the magical names of old
hear me, O Lady, hear and save. Open thy bosom to thy child, stretch forth thy arms and strain
me to thy breasts. Let my lips touch thy lips ineffable. Hear me, O Lady Isis, hear and save. Lift
up thy voice to aid me in this critical hour. Lift up thy voice most musical. Cry aloud, O queen
and mother, to protect me from all black and baneful magick."
Harness the power of the Magick of Light to become the HERO your were aways meant to be!
Dare to become 'more than human' - to wield Magick power for what is good, and right, and
true!
In 1999, at the dawn of the new Millennium, I did something that shook the world of Magick to
its very core. I compiled every Hermetic and Rosicrucian magical ritual, spell, and ceremony of
the Magick of Light into what I call the Ritual Magick Manual.
1. Open a portal of Light that can flow between the top of your head and a point or sphere of
pure, intense white light an arm’s length above your head – you should feel something like a
tingling sphere or halo of light at the crown of your head.
2. Starting with the head (face, scalp, sides of head and ears, interior of head, upper jaw, lower
jaw, back of head, first cervical vertebra) notice and relax your body one piece at a time. You
can move fairly quickly – whole head, neck, shoulders, arms and hands, upper torso, abdomen,
lower torso, hips, upper legs, knees, lower legs, ankles, feet — or you can work more slowly and
deliberately.
As you relax, inhale light from the star through your crown into the part of the body being
considered. Then inhale any light-obstructing tensions, thoughts, emotions, etc. from that part of
the body.
When you finish, your whole body will be refreshed with light. You have in fact activated and
strengthened the luminous ‘field’ properties of your ‘esoteric’ levels and dimensions of being.
4. Simple relaxing breath.
Start off fairly slowly. Most people will have to slow their breathing down significantly to do
this exercise.
5. Magical Water.
Take a glass or cup of drinking water, and set it on a table or stool, etc., in front of you, as you
are seated or standing comfortably, in a position you find useful for meditation.
Invoke the Most High, as a benevolent presence that, like a loving parent, has your growth,
development, wisdom and freedom at heart and that has the power to bless you radiantly and
lastingly.
Visualize in some way the life, light, love and blessing vibration (like music, like the sound of
wind and waters) of the Most High penetrating into the water. It can help if sunshine or another
source of light shines into the water, but the interior imaging and belief in the ‘charging’ of the
water is most important, and one should not mistake the visible light for the god-light that is
flowing into the water.
Blow gently on the water, making slight ripples, as if cooling a cup of hot coffee or tea, and
imagine the spirit of the Most High gently troubling the waters of undifferentiated being,
preparing to bring forth all the dimensions of creation – all the dimensions of creation exist as a
pure potential within your proto-cosmic water.
As you finish this breathing, seal the light into the water with some small praise, thanksgiving, or
doxology —
Blessed be the Giver of the water of life, and blessed be the one who receives it, may they
be one, now and always.
While visualizing the light in the water flowing out into all your body, bringing light-energy,
health, peace, vitality, and illuminating wisdom to all your cells, all your organs, tissues, and
limbs, drink the water, neither slowly nor in haste, and with great relish, as if it has the power to
refresh the whole kosmos, body soul and spirit.
If you don’t want to drink all of it, share some with a pet, or a plant.
A great deal of your own imagination and inner light and thirst has gone into this water, and it is
like a ‘designer drug’ suited to your system. If you want to share it with another human person,
they should be aware of your water-illuminating ritual, and consent to share the water with you,
and you should be careful not to be an idiot — wish for their good, not merely your own.
‘May all be blessed, and no harm or sorrow come to any but what they seek.’
I have found the St. Patrick’s Breastplate Prayer is another good protection prayer. The
full version of the prayer is quite long. However, there is a simple 15 line section which
is quite powerful and beautiful. The prayer goes like this: REPORT THIS AD
I hope that you find these prayers helpful and comforting. They can be good prayers to
pray before you start listening prayer, intercessory prayer, or contemplative prayer. Of
course anytime you start to feel any possible spiritual attack they can be good protective
prayers.
Question: Do you have a protection prayer that you like to use? Have you ever used
these prayers, if so did you find them comforting?
Caim Prayers...
The Carmina Gadelica is a collection of hymns and incantations collected during the second half
of the nineteenth century by Alexander Carmichael. They come from the highlands and islands
of Scotland. Several examples of Caim prayers, passed down from long ago are included in the
collection.
These are modern Caim prayers, written in the Celtic style by David Adam, a former vicar
of St Mary’s Church on Holy Island.
Circle me O God
Keep hope within
Despair without
Circle me O God
Keep peace within
Keep turmoil out.
Circle me O God
Keep calm within
Keep storms without.
Circle me O God
Keep strength within
Keep weakness out
Divine are Your honors, Oh Mother of the Gods and Nurturer of All.
Yoke your swift chariot drawn by bull-slaying lions and,
O Mighty Goddess who brings things to pass, join our prayers.
Many named and reverend, You are the Queen of the Sky.
In the cosmos, Your throne is above all others, for You are

To all my HOGD brothers and sisters: I have prayed that 4 holy warrior angels surround each of
you, in the name of YHVH Elohim Yeheshua Adonai. Amen.

This process of develping one’s subconscious magical structure [i.e. theoria or schema of
schemata], which I refer to as the individual’s State of Subjective Synthesis … [will be
aided by this handbook..
The end result of any functional magical practice is a personal system of MagicalPractice,
specificto a particular magicians own inner nature'
WHAT IN YOUR PRACTICE IS STABLE, and what patterns are worked out in it?
English:
Holy Raphael the Archangel, prince of the heavenly host and medic of God, through the name
Adonai Eloah Va-Da’as I call thee forth, and send thee into the soul of N., that thou mayest heal
and cleanse his/her heart and mind from all obstacles, walls, and psychological snares: may
every wounded emotion of N. be healed, and particularly the sense of N.N. Now and forever.
Amen.
This is all that’s on the paper, and from its nature I’m guessing I would’ve preceded it by saying
the Invocatio Nominis Domini, after which this prayer would be repeated six times. If I were
doing it again today, I would change the Divine Name to Elohei Tzavaos, and recite it eight
times because of the intention’s relationship to Mercury (healing).
Sadly, I have no notes from indicating when, where, or why this was written, so I put this out on
the internet in hopes that it can help whomever finds a use for it.
13. Blessing of a
pentacle
[NOTE: As-written, the text assumes knowledge of the standard versicles, responses, and
endings found in Catholic ritual.]
English:
Let us pray.
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, who for love of us shed thy + Blood on at least five
occasions: in + circumcision, in the + agony of Gethsemane’s Garden, in the + scourging at the
pillar, in the + crowning with cruel thorns, and finally in thy glorious + crucifixion: vouchsafe to
grant, we beseech thee, the power of thy blessing into this pentacle, dedicated to the same Most
Precious + Blood; that the power of the same + Blood, through which we have the power to
command all spirits and elementals, may be concentrated into whatsoever is placed or held
within this pentacle’s confines, for the manifestation of the Operator’s intention twice: once on
heaven and at the same time on earth. Who livest and reignest. R. Amen.
Latin:
R. Amen.
I found many other objects and writings in these folders, much of which are either personal in
nature, or would have no use being posted here (correspondence with the bishop for several
months prior to my ordination, for example). But if anything, it shows that we’re still learners
and capable of making mistakes even a decade or more into our study or practice.
Presently I’m still going through other folders that were in the box where I found these four, and
if anything worthwhile pops up, I’ll make sure to let you know.
I’ve been reading a book about word play in ritual texts in the hathor temple at dendara (cf pdf
and .docx notes, Richter, theology of Hathor etc.)
this connects to the podcast interview with Laurel Airica who does wordplay magic
like beautiful = be you to full
in Richter Theology of Hathor etc., the king makes offerings, and the texts are in the pattern
thus p 166:
The polyptoton on the root
Ax, "to shine, be effective,"
emphasizes the King's
action due to the
use of the s-causative form
of the verb as the perfective
active participle, "who
makes shine,
makes effective," followed by the feminine active participle used as the substantive, Ax.t, the
"Shining/Effective (Eye)." The entire phrase shows that by the King's restoration of the Eye's
missing parts, he makes it "Shining," and "Effective."
– based on Sufi teachings and texts, Corbin discusses the reality of an imaginal world, which
properly understood contains the physical world
[this helps refute a common fallacy of atheist arguments, that God must be somehow in and
thus evidenced in the material, spatial and temporal world]
This is roughly analogous to and congruent with
my idea of an informational dimensionality that
precedes and generates the material world, and
which can be explored and expanded (evolved
into further dimensionalities, which ‘collapse’
back into the original patterns but without loss of
newness)
“The Image-Maker”
There is a story about a tantric adept who could ejaculate, send the stream of semen in a loop
through the air, then pull it back into his body, through the same orifice it left by. The real point
of the story is that our attention and intention, the resources of our freedom, likewise can be
trained to go out and return to us.
Without completely denying the possibility of such a miracle in the material world, we should
recognize this story as a parable, a teaching story, so that ‘semen’ or ‘seed’ here refers to
something other than the physical seminal fluid. It refers instead to what we can, for now at least,
call a specific psychological function: the ability to imagine something, in thought or feeling,
image or word, and then bring it into being. This function, which in most of us does not evolve
beyond the preparation stages, is the actual ‘seed’ of our higher humanity. The ‘seed’ which an
adept learns to retain and guide is the precious seed of creative freedom hidden within attention
itself, the creative freedom which we can learn to use, and to enhance, and so learn to direct our
lives where we want them to go, even in adverse exterior circumstances. This freedom is a
human birthright, but it remains largely dormant in most of us. We can only learn to exercise this
freedom with difficulty and great effort — there is a great deal for us to free ourselves from, and
there is a great deal to construct, to sow and reap, if we will use our freedom well.
(I have just seen the Gnostic vision, of spirit entangled in layers of matter and passion, and of
laws ).
Gurdj’s Beelzebub said if he could give only one message to every human being, it would be
Remember that you are going to die. Perhaps in some of us this remembrance will prompt us
[inspire us, require us, fire us, give us a thirst] to pay closer attention to what it is we are doing
and experiencing, while it is still available to us
What is it that lives in me? I look closely at it, and I see that it is more than a product of material
nature, of physics and biology — it seems in fact to be a piece or image of the Divine, to be at
some essential point inseparable from God — yet I am clearly not God, too. I am too clumsy, to
inattentive, to distracted, too full of unacknowledged pretenses and foolish (unselfaware)
ignorance to be God.
There is something vibrating in me that also vibrates everywhere around me, the same vibration
that is in me, but taking on countless and unimaginable shapes as its forms and symbols cycle
and interact. Somehow in me this vibration has reached a measure of self-awareness, but my
self-knowledge and thus my self-control are severely constrained. I am existing in this specific
biological, mammalian, and human form only by means of — and by being profoundly indebted
to — a context of incredible complexity and beauty of structure.
The world and my awareness of it are not separate things or processes or situations; they are
inseparable aspects of one single thing. As I become aware of higher and deeper aspects of
reality, I find that God and I, or Buddha-mind and I, or however I conceptualize It, are
inseparable aspects of one single thing, about which we can coherently say only that it is holy,
and that its holiness is a mystery we can share in and invoke, but not explain.
Whatever it is, this singular entity which is alive and aware in me, in us — it seems to exist in
some way beyond what is visible of it. We can notice it, we can become more aware of it, but to
begin with, and for a long time, our awareness of it — our self-awareness — is clouded and
significantly delusional. Thinking about this carefully, we should ask ourselves if this original,
universal I which unites all universes has a pure state that can be recognized by us? If so, what is
required of us by this recognition?
When we look for ourselves, we find that we are entangled in all kinds of imaginary things, and
all kinds of motions, so that much of what we can become or not is already determined. Yet there
are, mysteriously and wonderfully, certain points, for some of us at least, where we can look at
ourselves and see that we have actual choices, actual options, at least in how we imagine reality
into being.
When we look closely, we will see our stories being shaped by things that do not exist in the
material world except as symbols, images, words, ideas, desires, fears, and so on. There is no
mechanical way to measure a symbol, in part because they are not scalar; they are ‘fractally’
structured, as it were, self-similar and self-repeating at different scales. We can describe some of
them in mathematical terms — geometrical figures, musical intervals, statistical distributions,
etc. — but as they become more complex, symbols emerge for things that cannot be computed or
algorithmatized, like love or pain, or attention, or work toward a goal.
Can the seed, the spark, the original I AM, return to its pure, unentangled condition, while still
remembering itself as this, me, I am, now, now, I am?
If we decide that this mysterious thing is worth cultivating, this sense of being, this ability to
attend, and to intend and imagine, if we decide that we should get to know ourselves better, we
quickly find that we are entangled and indebted and co-evolved and conditioned, that we run in
automated, habitual patterns most of the time, and that we cannot simply be ourselves without
much work, without a struggle against many layers and systems of constraints and falsifications.
In this world, how many different kinds of constraints keep the Pure Mind or Divine Light
entangled? Setting aside (which is itself very difficult to do) the social and cultural additions to
our minds and actions, there are in our fundamental, universal condition many types and systems
of constraints — which, given grace, are also opportunities. There are:
a Four
a Five
a Six
a Seven
an Eight, a Nine, a Ten, a Twelve that becomes 13, a twenty, a 52, and so on — and I must
‘escape’ from all of them — in other words, I need to learn how these constraints, these laws,
these natural processes function, learn to work with them, learn to shape myself around them,
learn how to ascend through them like Dante through the realms and spheres of Hell, Purgatory
and Paradise — or, perhaps more accurately in some regards, since we do not simply rise but
must CLIMB, overcoming failure, we ascend like a dedicated player through the levels of a
complex and difficult digital game.
These cosmos-shaping laws and processual structures are geometrical, emotional, dangerous,
playful, colorful, rigid in places, yet full of space for innovation, layeredly symbolic, and
joyfully rooted. Above all, they are holy and should be treated as such. These structures are
possessed of real properties and provide real experiences not definable in the terms of the
material sciences, which limit themselves, unnecessarily, to methods of investigation which
cannot measure meaning, and so cannot coherently describe even the first steps of the ladder of
ascent that opens before us, that beckons.
These are the primordial, archetypal geometries and tones out of which human beings are
composed and constructed; these are the structures we must learn to work within, and in some
cases the limitations or ‘chains’ out of which we must learn to rise.
That’s why we need an ‘esoteric’, symbolic system — or several — because what we need to
know can’t be described, mapped, or encoded in more linear ways, because the ‘higher’
dimensionalities of ourselves to be experienced and manipulated in the self-making process are
not mechanical. That’s why shamanic worlds are rich and complex, because we ourselves are
rich and complex. That’s why spiritual training systems and even conventional religions develop
complex patterns and networks of symbolism; that’s why our dreams thoroughly explored are
mysterious and full of symbols — provided of course that we explore them respectfully and do
not behave like conquering barbarians sure of our superiority and scornful of the ‘natives’.
There are complex, interrelated layers and cycles of what we can call creative principles, or
energies, or archetypal forms. The Tree of Life has all of them symbolized in it, as does the
Tarot, as do the effective tantric systems of mantras and deities, mandalas and meditation
exercises, as do the practices of all real initiatory and mystery schools. Yet the essence itself —
the Spirit, the buddha-mind, tao, Dzogchen’s primordial state, the Word that is the Light of
human beings, the Prime Vibration (and Prime Gradient), the Field Behind All Fields, the
Hidden-Yet-Immanent, the thus-come-existing — cannot be systematized in any one way.
No matter how correct, no matter how rooted in sound theory (‘right view’, ‘true doctrine’, etc.)
and carefully observed and varied experience we believe our own beliefs and practices to be, we
cannot condemn the beliefs of others simply because they differ from our own. It is often the
case that different approaches achieve the same results. We must look at the kind of person a
thorough practice of this or that system or methodology of self-making produces.
When we examine the Western occult or ‘hermetic’ traditions, for instance, we should recognize
that the elements of those traditions — the four elements, seven planets, twelve signs of the
zodiac, 360 degrees of the circle, and so on — do not refer to kinds of matter, or planets, or
constellations. They refer to natural laws that shape our lives, ‘informational’ and psychological
laws that are as real as the material, mechanical ones investigated by the material and mechanical
sciences. ‘Earth’ and ‘fire’, ‘Mercury’ and ‘Jupiter’, ‘Taurus’ and ‘Virgo’ and all the rest
represent and embody kinds of consciousness and kinds of ‘psychological’ cause and effect, with
their shaping laws and their creative potentials. The better we understand those laws and
potentials, those patterns of constraints and possibilities, the more freedom we have to choose
what kind of creatures we will become. This understanding does not come easily. It requires
work, long and hard. The essence of it cannot be learned from books — we must understand by
experiencing and doing for ourselves, the same way we learned to walk or talk or play a game.
You cannot learn a game by watching it, and you cannot learn how to live by thinking about it.
The archetypes stand for structures and processes, or lawful energies and the forces they exert.
When we learn how these function, we can learn to use them or avoid them.
Neil Goddard says that the human imagination is Jesus Christ, the creative power of God. ‘Your
imagination is Jesus Christ himself!’
The Mundus Imaginalis is something like the Christian heaven; it’s the part of reality
where archetypes exist; it is peopled by beings, including angels.
We embodied humans both perceive this Mundus Imaginalis and we create in it. It’s
where synchronicities and creative leaps happen, where grace reaches us. It’s where the
experiences we call psychic happen, as well as dreams (Rossi, p. 4).
