Independent learning is a method that can be applied as a mechanism by learners to help


achieve their final objective. Independent learner must to be organized, defined and dedicated.
Teachers are guides or facilitators. Also, the motivation is a clue to have success. Teachers as
facilitators can guide students to develop this method successfully getting self-learning and self-
directed learning. This type of learning also gives them an opportunity to self-discover
themselves and their own needs as well as their weaknesses and strengths.

Independent learning could involve different things, objectives and habits. Therefore, the
importance of motivation is crucial. Learners have to feel confident to develop this method.
The role of teachers is very important to help and support them. Learners must have to develop
the social skills. A good communication and participation can get an active exchanged of ideas.
The interaction between learners is very important in this learning style. The usage of it serves
as a mirror for them when students transfer their knowledge with others.

Independent learning is also important in achieving as well as enhancing specific skills. As


students are able to self-directed themselves while learning, they should also be able to plot
their own way and value their own work in order to compare themselves to their peers that are
on the same level as them (Michie, 2013).

As a conclusion, the importance of an effective method is to participate, collaborate and interact


with the partners; bearing in mind the objectives and the role of the teachers. Also, learners have
to keep going to look for more knowledge and increasing their learning.
