COURSE OUTLINE

This course is designed to give students a comprehensive view of communication, its


scope and importance in business, and for success in business environments. Students will
learn various methods of writing, listening, speaking, and nonverbal communication skills
using the techniques of practice and application. This will provide students with essential
communication skills that are necessary for modern business communication.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
 Demonstrate understanding of business writing, reporting, and research.
 Understand the importance of specifying audience and appropriate communication
choices.
 Practice the learning of business communication principles and help advance
communication in the workplace.
 Build an understanding of different organizational cultures, business practices, and
social norms to communicate more effectively in domestic and cross-cultural
business contexts.

Assignment:

1) Write a paper about:


a. The impact of technology: How employees and businesses are changing the
way they communicate in business to compete in a rapid global market.
b. Explain the importance of business etiquette rules that should always be
followed when doing business online.
2) Choose 6-8 members to form a group.
3) This paper should be about fifteen (15) pages. The paper must include all the
citations and references.
4) The assignment must follow APA format: Double spaced, Times New Roman,
font size 12, and margin 1 inch all around.
5) Due date: Feb 13, 2020. Please send the hard copy to PJJ office. Late
assignments will be rejected.
