Purchaser approval six (6) prints or one (1) reproducible transparency of drawings show-
ing a typical fence elevation, including:
1) gates
2) general installation details
3) details of any special construction,

5) gate foundation dimensions and layout.
4.1.3 [Add]
Supplier shall submit Manufacturer's product data and installation instructions on all
fencing components.
1) For sliding gates, Supplier shall furnish complete details for:

d) other literature on gate operators, if required.
4.2 Materials [Add]
All materials shall:
1. be furnished by Supplier and
2. conform to the Standard Guides of the Chain Link Fence Manufacturers Institute (CLFMI)

diameter) wire.
3) have the top and bottom selvedges twisted and barbed.
4) meet the following requirements in addition to those specified by the
CLFMI:
Fabric shall be hot-dip galvanized after weaving. Zinc coating shall
be Class II (minimum 2.0 oz/ft2) unless otherwise specified by Pur-
chaser.
Comment: The selection of the types of fencing materials for a par-
ticular installation must be based on anticipated environ-

life. Refer to Section 700 of the Civil and Structural Man-
ual for more detailed selection information.
4.2.4.7 [Add]
Hinges for galvanized steel gates shall be either galvanized steel or galvanized
malleable iron.

wire fabric.
4) The nominal height of fabric shall be six (6) feet (1.83 meters)
unless otherwise specified.
Comment: Six-foot high fences are normally specified. For safety fences, such
as around electrical equipment, higher fencing may be desired.
b. Fencing in which contour of ground results in a space of six (6) inches or
more between bottom of chain link fabric and ground shall be handled as
follows:
1) Intermediate posts shall be set at low point.
2) Tightly stretched barbed wire shall be used to close apace between
bottom of fence and ground.
3) Sufficient strands of barbed wire shall be provided to limit clear
