Welcome to PDFSimpli!
In this Welcome Guidebook you will learn how to convert all document types into
PDFs and vice versa. In addition, you will learn how to edit your PDF using key
features such as esignatures & watermarking, and a variety of other useful editing
functions. Also learn how to change the structure of your PDF by learning how to
merge, split, compress or rotate a PDF.

1. PDF Converter
If you donʼt have an account yet, and want to convert a file.
1. Go to the homepage of ​https://pdfsimpli.com/​ and choose the correct file type.

2. You will be prompted to upload a document. (Please note: An error will occur if you choose the wrong
document type.)
3. Once you have chosen the file format for conversion, it will then open the document in the editor. From this
editor, you can make various changes to your document such as: Replace Text, Add Text and many other
features (directions in this guide).
4. When finished, click “Convert” in the top right of the editor and your document is successfully converted.

5. When you have Converted your file, you can access it from your Documents section which can be located at:
https://pdfsimpli.com/home/documents
6. From this section, you will be able to Download, Edit, Print, Send, Sign or Delete your documents.

If you already have an account and would like to convert without making any alterations to the document.
1. Go to your Documents section within your account (Direct Link: ​https://pdfsimpli.com/home/documents​)
2. Once there, take a look at the right side and locate “Quick Actions”.
3. From this area, you can click on any of the colored boxes with various format options to quickly convert your
document. (Please note: An error will occur if you choose the wrong document type.)

2. PDF Editor
If you don’t have an account yet, and want to edit a PDF.
1. Go to the homepage of ​https://pdfsimpli.com/​ and click on “Upload a PDF to Convert”

2. You will be prompted to upload a PDF. (Please note: An error will occur if you try to upload a non-pdf. To
upload and edit a file other than a PDF, please see section 1. PDF Converter and follow those steps.)
3. Once on the next page, you can edit your document and make edits such as: Replace Text, Add Text,
Highlight and many others!(directions in this guide).

4. Once finished, click “Save” in the top right of the editor and your document is successfully edited.

If you already have an account and your document is already a PDF, and you want to edit it
1. First you would need to visit your Documents section in your account.
a. The direct link is: ​https://pdfsimpli.com/home/documents
2. Once you have logged in with your account, you will be able to see your documents under the “Documents”
section on the left side.
3. Look for the document you would like to edit and once you have found the correct one, hover over your
document and you will be able to see various options, simpli click on “Edit” and this will open in our editor.

4. All the Editing functions are explained throughout this guide.

RESET
1. The Reset icon, allows you to pick and choose what past edits you want to delete from your PDF, no matter if
it was your last edit or your first edit.
2. To access the “Reset” tool, take a look at the top toolbar and from there, click on “More” this will then give you
access to the Reset feature.

3. Click the “Reset” icon and a list of edits on the left hand side will appear.
4. Click on each individual edit to see in the PDF which edit it refers to, and click on the red “X” to delete what
you want. To hide the list of edits.

3. eSignature
If you already have an account and your document is already uploaded as a PDF.
1. First you would need to visit your Documents section in your account.
a. The direct link is: ​https://pdfsimpli.com/home/documents
2. Once you have logged in with your account, you will be able to see your documents under the “Documents”
section on the left side.
3. Look for the document you would like to sign and once you have found the correct one, hover over your
document and you will be able to see various options, simpli click on “Edit” and this will open in our editor.
4. When it opens in our editor, click on “Signature” in the top toolbar and this will give you access to our different
signature options.
5. Click on “Signature” and then “+ Add New”

6. A pop-up will appear and you can add a signature in 3 different ways.
a. First option: Click on “Draw with Mouse” to simply move the mouse over the signature line and sign
your signature.

b. Second option: Click “Type in Keyboard”. Simply type your name and cursive signature will appear.

c. Third Option: Click “Upload an Image” and you can upload a signature if you currently have it saved
to your device. This signature needs to be saved in an image format (JPEG, JPG, PNG, etc.) for the
method to work correctly.

d. Once you have chosen one of the three options for signature, you can then click on the desire area to
add the signature within your document. It appears with a red box around it. You can resize it by
dragging the corners of the box and move it by clicking inside the box and dragging to desired
location.

7. If you accidently delete your signature, or want to add more than one signature, click the “Signature” icon and
choose the previous signature from the drop down or “+ Add New” to add an additional signature.

8. Click “Save” to save your PDF.

If you already have an account and want to send your document for signature.

9. First you would need to visit your Documents section in your account.
a. The direct link is: ​https://pdfsimpli.com/home/documents
10. Once you have logged in with your account, you will be able to see your documents under the “Documents”
section on the left side.
11. Look for the document you would like to send for signature and once you have found the correct one, hover
over your document and you will be able to see various options, simpli click on “Sign” and this will open in our
editor for signature.

12. Your document will now open in the editor.


13. After it has opened, click on “Yes” if you agree that the document will be locked until it has been signed by
your recipient. This will prevent fraud or any delinquent activity since the document cannot be altered during
the signing process.

14. When you have clicked on “Yes” this will now ask you to input the email recipient that will receive the
document for signature.

15. Next, you will have to select the fields that you would like to add such as: Signature, Date or Text and then
click on “Yes”

16. Now click on the area where you would like to add the signature, date or text.
17. When you have added the field, it will prompt you to input a message if you would like and continue by
clicking Yes.
18. Then click Yes or No if you would like to provide a copy of the signed document for your recipient and click
Send!

4. Watermark
If you already have an account and your document is already uploaded.
1. First you would need to visit your Documents section in your account.
a. The direct link is: ​https://pdfsimpli.com/home/documents
2. Once you have logged in with your account, you will be able to see your documents under the “Documents”
section on the left side.
3. Look for the document you would like to add the watermark to and once you have found the correct one,
hover over your document and you will be able to see various options, simpli click on “Edit” and this will open
in our editor.

4. Now click the “Watermark” icon

5. A pop-up will appear and you can add a watermark in 2 different ways.
a. First you can click on “Text”. Simply type what you would like your watermark to say.

b. Second, you can click on “Image”. Simply upload your own watermark image.

6. Click “Use It’.


7. You return to the PDF and your image or text will appear automatically in the center of the page as a
watermark.

8. Click “Save” to save your document.

5. Add Text, Highlights, Underlines, Strikeouts & Images
All of these features require you to convert a document type to PDF by step 1. PDF Convertor, or access your PDF by
step 2, PDF Editor.

Add Text
1. Click the “Text” icon. This will open our text tool and give the user the ability to add words to the document.

2. Click where you want your text to be and a cursor will appear, then type the desired text.
3. Click inside the box to move the text to where you need it.
4. Click “Save” to save your PDF.

Text Highlight
1. To highlight the text in your document, you will have to open your document in our editor. (See 2. PDF Editor)
2. Once the document is open, you can then click on our “Highlight” tool in the top toolbar.

3. After you have clicked on Highlight, drag your cursor over the text you would like to highlight.

19. Click “Save” to save your PDF.

Text Underline
1. To Underline text within your document, click on the Underline tool.

2. Once you have clicked on the Underline tool, drag and drop your pointer over the text you would like to
Underline.

3. When you have chosen the text to highlight, let go of the cursor and it will then highlight the areas that have
been chosen.

20. Click “Save” to save your PDF.

Text Strikeout
1. To Strike out text in your document, click on “Strikeout” in the top toolbar.

2. When you have clicked on this tool, then click on the text you would like to Strikeout

3. Once you have chosen the text you would like to Strikeout, let go of the cursor and this will then Strikeout the
chosen text.

4. Click “Save” to save your PDF.

Add Images
1. You can add an image using our “Add Image” tool located in the top toolbar.

2. When you have clicked on the “Add Image” button, it will prompt a window where you can add your images.

3. Once you have found your image, then click on “Insert”


4. Now back to your PDF. Click wherever you want the image to appear.
5. It appears with a red box around it. You can resize it by dragging the corners of the box and move it by
clicking inside the box and dragging to desired location.

6. Click “Save” to save your PDF.

6. Free Drawing, Shapes (Squares & Circles), Polygons, Lines & Arrows
Free Drawing
1. Take a look at our top toolbar and click on “Draw”

2. Once you have clicked on the Draw Feature, you will then see a drop down menu with various features such
as: Pencil, Line, Arrow and Polygon.

3. Choose the option you would like to use within your document and simply drag and drop over your document
to draw!
4. If you choose to change the color and line width, double click on a line. However, you would have to change
this for each separate stroke that is made so it's best to choose your color first underneath the “PDFSimpli”
logo in the top left.

5. Click “Save” to save your PDF.

Shapes
1. First click on “Shapes” in the top toolbar and choose the shape you would like to insert in your document.

2. Once you have opened the “Shapes” feature, you can then choose the option you would like to add in your
document.
3. From here, you will have options such as: Box, Circle, Circle Stroke, Cross and Check.

4. When you have chosen your Shape option, click in the area in your document where you would like to add the
shape to. If you would like to Resize the Shape, click and drag on one of the red squares around your Shape
to Resize!

5. Click “Save” to save your PDF.

Solid Square
1. To add a solid square shape, you will need to use our “Eraser” tool located in the top toolbar. If you would like
to resize your square, please see “Shapes” above.

2. Once you have added the “Eraser” tool, take a look at the top left, underneath the Pointer Tool and you will
see a small pen. Click on this pen and you will be able to change the color of your Square.

6. Click “Save” to save your PDF.

Polygon
The “Polygon” icon allows you to create as many straight lines as you desire on different angles, and then closes the
shape.

1. To get started, click on the “Polygon” icon located in the “More” section in the top toolbar.

2. Click within your document where you want to start, then move your mouse and click again. Repeat this as
many times as you want.
3. Double click when you are finished and the last line will connect itself to the shape so its closed.

4. Next, double click on the Polygon and a pop-up will appear where you can change the width of the line.

5. Click the “X” to close and return to the PDF.

6. Once you have added the “Polygon” tool, take a look at the top left, underneath the Pointer Tool and you will
see a small pen. Click on this pen and you will be able to change the color of your Polygon.

7. Click “Save” to save your PDF.

8. You can also move the Polygon wherever you want, click on it and drag it to the desired location.

Line & Arrows


The Line and Arrow work identical.

1. To get started, click on the “Line” or “Arrow” icon located in the “More” section in the top toolbar.

2. Click where you want your line/arrow to start and continue holding the mouse, and drag to where you want
your line/arrow to end and release the mouse.

3. Next, double click on the line/arrow and a pop-up will appear where you can change the color and width of the
line/arrow.

4. Click the “X” to close and return to the PDF.


5. You can also move the line/arrow wherever you want, click on it and drag it to the desired location.

7. Erase & Redact


All of these features require you to convert a document type to PDF by step 1. PDF Converter, or access your PDF by
step 2. PDF Editor.

Erase

1. To erase areas within your document, you will need to use our “Eraser” tool located in the top toolbar. If you
would like to resize your square, please see “Shapes” above.

2. When the Eraser tool has been chosen, the next step will be to drag the Eraser tool over the area that you
would like to erase within your document.

3. Next, click away from the Eraser tool to delete the chosen area within your document.

7. Click “Save” to save your PDF.

Redact
1. To start redacting your document, click on the “More” tool located in the top toolbar and then click on the very
first tool from the drop down menu which is called “Redact”

2. Next, click on the text within your document which you would like to Redact.

3. Once you have chosen the text you would like to Redact, simply click away from your document and your text
will be redacted.

4. Click “Save” to save your PDF.

8. Merge, Split, Compress & Rotate PDFs


Merge
1. In your Recent Documents, click “Merge PDF” from the “Quick Actions” menu on the right hand side of the
screen.

2. A pop-up prompting you to choose which PDFs you want to merge, will appear. Choose your PDFs and then
click “Merge”.

3. Your Merged PDF will upload to your Recent Documents within a few seconds!
4. You can now Edit, Sign, Print or Download your Merged PDF by hovering over your document and clicking on
the various options underneath your document.

Split
1. In your Recent Documents, click “Split PDF” from the “Quick Actions” menu on the right hand side of the
screen.

2. You will then see a prompted window where you will need to upload the PDF file you would like to Split.

3. After choosing the PDF you would like to Split, it will then appear in your Recent Documents where you can
Download it!.
4. The split file will be downloaded as a zipped folder so you can access the pages separately.

Compress

1. First, click on “Compress PDF” from the “Quick Actions” menu on the right hand side of the screen.

2. You will then see a prompted window where you will need to upload the PDF file you would like to Compress.

3. After choosing the PDF you would like to Compress, it will then appear in your Recent Documents where you
can Download it!.

Rotate
1. To rotate your document, take a look at the left side of the editor where you will see three document options,
from there, choose the middle option which has a page and a gear icon.

2. Once this option has been clicked, you will then see a prompted window where you can complete various
changes to your document such as: Delete Page, Add Page, Rotate, Move Left or Right!

3. Click on the Rotate option to Rotate your document!
