ESP OPERATION ORDER

Customer: PHE OSES Delivery Date: 09/Mar/20
Please pay more attention on HSE issues and all employees must wear the PPE. The pre-barge meeting should be held before well workover. Do the pre-check when
1
the equipment arrived at barge as soon as possible.
See the pump design and pump string sheet for more detail. The TP should be not more than 600 psi for QM series & QN120 pump while commissioning.
2
The report should be sent to all related personel including supervisors on barge and field.
Please check cable reading and also visual check the power cable between junction box and powerplug before splicing the powerplug to surface
5
power cable. If it is necessary please change this surface power cable.
Visually inspection of the mechanical to make sure physical is in good condition first. Then electrical property of BIW Power Plug should be taken during rigging down
6 the wellhead. The rig should be in the center of the well before workover and suggest the supervisor adjusting the rig in order that ESP will not scratched during run
into the hole. The cable band can be used during installation as per requirement.
Please visual monitor the cable during POOH and make clear picture for problem part, especially for short runlife & EDHP problem well. Before send the cable to KJ-4,
7
make specification and mark it. If there are some cable left inside of the reel from the last installation, which should be included in the cable specification.
8 The accessory of ESP which is not in good condition should be sent back to Marunda for repair and inform the Marunda to receive it.
9 The pulling and installation report will be sent back to CNOOC office and Jakarta Kelapa Gading office by email and keep the original copy.
In order to extend the run-life of downhole ESP system, all powerlift offshore field operation supervisors(CNOOC NBU) should follow SOP OF SOFT-STARTER if
Transformer with soft starter function is available. The soft starter tap ( Fact-Pac Transformer), is located in the same box( terminal) with main switch, and the
box(terminal) is on side of the Fact-Pac Transformer. The soft starter tap should be pre-set/adjusted as per the below principle. If motor Hp is more than 644hp
10
(including 644hp) and PSD is less than 4000FT, the tap should be pre-set/positioned at tap E (Voltage Drop 1000V),if PSD more than this value, tap should be pre-
set/positioned at tap D (Voltage Drop 750V). For the other motors which drive the 675 series pumps, the tap should all be put at tap D (Voltage Drop 750V), without
consideration of the PSD

* If motor HP is more than 644HP (including 644HP),and PSD is less than 4000 ft.the tap
should be pre-set positioned at tap E(Voltage Drop 1000V);
* If PSD more than this value, tap should be pre-set positioned at tap D(Voltage Drop 750V).
* For the other motors which drive the 675 series pumps, the tap should all be put at tap
D(Voltage Drop 750V),without consideration of the PSD.
3. Prior to fixing the soft-start tap by bolt, the tap should be moved back and forth for good
contacting.
4. After the tap is setup, the SCR(Sensing current relay) should be adjusted in order that
the
"Bypass contactor" can work properly.
* Calculating "the Bypass current",multiply the motor nameplate amp rating by 1.6
EXAMPLE: 103Amper motor 100x1.6=164.8 A
*Calculating the CT ratio, divide the primary current by the secondary current rating.
EXAMPLE: 200 to 5 CT has a ratio of 40.(200/5)
* Calculating the SC relay setting, divide the "Bypass Current" by the CT ratio.
EXAMPLE: 1648 A /40 (CT ratio) =4.12 amps
The SC relay setting in the example is 4.12 amps.
* Set the SC repay to 4.12 A by adjusting the knurled nut to position 4.12 approximately on
the vertical shaft.
5. Before started up, some settings should be done in K095. Access to the main menu.
please move the cursor to "set up" and enter, then choose the "equipment" and erter.
Set up by adjusting the "Lamp Function" "YELLOW= Reactor" in order to active the time
relay.
Remark:
1. After the soft-starter has been set up,maybe there is an aborted start due to the
additional voltage drop on the power system.Resetting the Soft-Starter to a lower tap
setting is necessary /needed.
2. After the Soft-Starter has been set up,maybe there is an alarm indication with "under
voltage.Normally it would be deanedlater automatically.
3. Sometimes SCR is not connected or not available, in this situation SCR adjustment is
not necessary.
