Fantasy Football League

Rules and Bylaws
CO-COMMISSIONERS: Chris Caughman / Mark Turner

The Gridiron Fantasy Football League (GFFL) is composed of ten fantasy football team owners, with two of
those owners being Co-Commissioners. The Commissioners are Chris Caughman and Mark Turner. This
league is founded on the premise that all owners will conduct themselves in a professional manner. It also was
established to have fun and promote comrade. The two officers will ensure that the league owners will conduct
themselves accordingly. Any disputes not covered in the By-Laws will be addressed and dealt with by the Co-
Commissioners. If they deem it necessary a majority rules vote will take place to resolve the dispute.

All owners MUST be actively involved in their team and league transactions. This is to ensure that all teams
have an enjoyable time and the opportunity to achieve greatness. The league WILL NOT tolerate owners who
are not an active participant in the league, i.e. (Failure to maintain complete and current line-ups, not
attempting to start their best players in order to obtain a higher draft position, or not trading) Missing one
week is not perceived as being inactive, but two or more weeks is considered to be an inactive owner. The
Commissioners will decide on any inactivity to decide whether to remove the owner from the league.  In the
event an owner is removed for inactivity the owner will forfeit all league fees.  This is why the fees are collected
before the annual draft.  The Commissioners retains the right to deny entry into the league of any new owners
or remove any owners it feels does not enhance the spirit of the GFFL. The founders feel that evolution of this
league will move in a positive direction, and therefore will continue to strive in maintaining its professional
integrity.

The following paragraphs are the Bylaws that govern the day-to-day activities concerning the GFFL. They are
necessary to avoid any confusion team owners might encounter while managing their franchise. Once again
any matters not covered in the Bylaws will be addressed by the Co-Commissioners.

Officers

Co-Commissioners:

1. Have the final decision authority on all aspects of the league and player transactions except when his team is
involved. Then the other Co-Commissioner has decision authority.

2. Has final decision authority on all disputes and issues.

3. Handles all player transactions and maintains the GFFL monies.

Franchise Ownership:
All owners of the previous year must notify the commissioner by August 1 of the upcoming FFL year of their
intentions to keep or release their franchise.  If the league doesn't receive notification by Aug. 1st of the current
year, the first non-owner with league fees paid can assume ownership of that team. The owner from the
previous year will still be able to buy another team if available or maintain his current team after Aug. 1st if
they pay their league fees before a new person can assume ownership.

League fees:
$100 is collected NLT August 1st before the annual draft is to be held. This is for the "HEAD TO HEAD"
competition.

HEAD TO HEAD MONEY DISTRIBUTION:

1st Place = $400.00

2nd Place = $200.00

3rd Place = $175.00

4th Place = $125.00

5th Place = $100.00

Any additional contest suggestions (i.e. Last man standing, ECT) may be submitted to the league for a vote.
All teams except the submitting team may vote. The vote must be completed in 48hrs from the time of
submission and the majority will determine the results. The submitting team is responsible for the ‘get out the
vote’. Participation will not be mandatory in these contests unless a compliance vote obtains approval from
100% of the teams. After the 48hrs if a majority has not been obtained the suggestion will be cancelled.
The Commissioners have the right to cancel/modify/reverse the decision at any time.

Draft:

Draft Order:
Draft order will be determined by random drawing each year and will be a snaking draft. The draft order will
be determined NLT 2 weeks prior to the initial draft date.
Each owner is allowed 90 SECONDS per draft pick.

Draft Day:
The draft date and location will be determined and set as early as possible.  Owners will be responsible for
making sure they are available at that time.   The exact date will be made known to all owners at least 3 weeks
prior to the draft day.  Every owner must be able to participate in the draft.   In the event an owner cannot
attend the draft, he must find a proxy to draft for him.  It will not be either of the Commissioners.  It is required
that the proxy be a non-owner.  An owner who is unavailable to attend draft day MUST give their proxy a
detailed draft sheet for the entire draft.  If an owner is unable to attend and doesn't appoint a proxy then their
draft pick will be skipped and the owner may choose any player left in the free agent pool after the draft
concludes.
Trades of draft positions are allowed but the Commissioner must be notified of changes and all particulars
prior to draft day.

It is EACH OWNER'S RESPONSIBILITY to keep track of who's been drafted, what positions they need to fill
and to turn in a complete roster before leaving the draft.
Player retainment:

All Keeper players must be declared by August 1st of the current year

Each team may, but is not required to, retain/keep up to 5 players each year. You CAN’T keep a player taken in
round 1 or 2 in the previous draft. All players taken in rounds 1-2 in the previous year will be returned to the
player pool. You may keep one player from tier 1(round 3- 5), 2 players from tier 2(round 6-12)and 3 players
from tier 3(round 13-18). The draft pick prior to the round a player was taken or kept in the previous year is
forfeited in the current draft.

Example: if you drafted Aaron Rodgers in the 6th round in 2010, you may keep him and forfeit your 5th round
pick in the 2011 draft. If kept in 2012, he is now considered your 4th round pick. If kept in 2013 he is your 3rd
round pick. If kept in 2014 he is your 2nd round pick. In 2015 he would be returned to the player pool.

Any player acquired in a trade will hold his draft position for the new owner.

Example: if you drafted Peyton Manning in the 6th round in 2010, and traded him to another team during the
season, and the new owner wants to keep him for 2011, the new owner would forfeit his 5th round pick in the
2011 draft.

Any player acquired in free agency or off waivers will constitute a 13th round pick in the prior draft and lose the
12th round pick in the current draft.

Remember all trades must be completed by the end of 13th week of the season.

VOIDED TRANSACTIONS:  All transactions can be voided by the Commissioner.  If an owner is trying to
avoid the league restraints by usurping the bylaws, the Commissioner retains the right to deny the transaction
and any player movement that does not enhance the spirit of the league.

Example:  Team A owns Player A.  In order to retain him for future years, he drops Player A at 4:00
am in the morning and then picks him back up at 4:01 am.

This will not be allowed.  A team dropping a player WILL NOT is able to pick up the dropped player until 1
week later.

Edgar Bennett Rule: If one of your retained players goes down with a severe injury, dies or gets cut before the
draft, you can make a change to your retained list with approval by the commissioner.

Player Movements:

Trades:
Unlimited trades will be allowed until the 13th week games have been completed. Trades made after lineups
are turned in will take effect the following week.

Trades of players and draft picks will be the only allowed legal transactions. That means no money
transactions, ECT. Trades will be allowed to begin again after the FANTASY Super bowl.  There will be no free
agents pickups until the new FFL season begins. All trades will subject to league vote excluding the teams
participating in the trade. Must have a majority vote to approve or deny a trade within 48 hrs. of trade
submission or the trade is cancelled. Teams participating in the trade are responsible for ‘getting out the vote’.
All unfair trades can and will be cancelled/reversed by the Commissioners.

Waiver Type:

Weekly rolling list based on standings

Pickups:

All pickups follow the Yahoo default.

Injure Reserve:

You may keep 1 player on IR. YOU CANNNOT pick up a free agent player from the pool who is currently on
the NFL's IR and not on your team. ALL IR TRANSACTIONS MUST BE APPROVED BY THE
COMMISSIONER.  In order to be placed on I.R. a player MUST be on his NFL team's I.R.   If at the end of
the NFL's regular season a player is still on his NFL team's I.R. The GFFL team that owns that player's rights
can place or keep that player on his FFL I.R. This will NOT count against the GFFL team's 5 allowed
retainable players for that year. In the following years if the player is retained, the year on the I.R. will count
toward his retainability total.
