Bulletin #: 2015-04(W)
Revision #: A
Subject: Loss of Network Communication and Fault Codes 114 and 115
Problem
A small number of G2 engines have set fault codes 114 and 115 as a result of an errant signal from a
“non” BRP device on the CANBus network. These codes are the result of loss in network communica-
tions between the engine’s EMM and the ICON II Remote Control and will result in the engine going into
S.A.F.E. mode.
Solution
Update the firmware for the ICON II Remote Control using Evinrude Diagnostics 6 software program.
The firmware listed in the table below is current as of the date of this bulletin.
Dual Lever Binnacle Mount SW0253 Rev16B or higher SW0253 RevD or higher
IMPORTANT: If the installation of a new engine and remote control, or installation of a replacement re-
mote control results in an intermittent display of fault codes 114 and 115, the firmware in the remote con-
trol must be updated.

laptop with Evinrude Diagnostics 6 software program to the NMEA 2000 network.
IMPORTANT: Log into BOSSWeb and update to Evinrude Diagnostics 6 to version 6.2.20012 or higher
before verifying and updating the firmware in the ICON II Remote Control.
Turn the key switch to the ON position and then start Evinrude Diagnostics 6.
After Evinrude Diagnostics 6 connects to the network, select the remote control from the device list.
