The document identifies seven types of wastes found in a university: transportation, inventory, motion, waiting, over production, over processing, and defects. Examples of each type of waste are provided, such as excess inventory in the admin block and waiting lines outside of banks and examination centers. The document concludes by giving an example of defects occurring during admissions to the Bachelor of Arts program due to inventory issues causing wrong addresses.

Topic: Identify Seven Types of Wastes in University
Type of wastes:
1)Transportation: Wastes effort to transport any material into or out of storage
between processes. Example: Most of the time document to be transported with in the admin block because of inventory. 2)Inventory: Maintain excess inventory throughout the process. Example: Admin block is the best example of inventory -examination center. 3)Motion: Any wasted motion. Example: During admission days, because of no proper signage a student face motion. Department to HBL (Challan pick up) then HBL to again department (Document submission) then again HBL (Challan Submission). 4)Waiting: Any non-work time for waiting of information, equipment etc. Example: Best example waiting lines outsides banks, examination center. 5)Over Production: Production more than need. Example: Private universities are the best examples. 6)Over processing: Doing more work than is necessary. Example: Mostly in barber shop’s we observe this type of waste. 7)Defect: Any thing you find with error after processing is defect. Example: During the admissions in Bachelor of Arts because of “Inventory” many students faced wrong addressed problem.
