Look at this example of division on a number line:


11 ÷ 3 = rem

Begin at 11. Hop back in 3s. Count the hops. You get to 2 and there are only 2 left over.
This is the remainder (remainder 2). The answer will be 11 ÷ 3 = 3 rem 2
1. Use this number line to work out the following:

e) 19 ÷ 3 = rem
f ) 15 ÷ 2 = rem
g) 14 ÷ 7 = rem
h) 13 ÷ 3 = rem
