Listening to Musical Elements and Describing What You Hear VP's:


 Teacher will play a musical elements on the piano, or on their

 The teacher will ask the students what they heard, and
how they can describe it. 
 Teacher will facilitate class discussion to figure out the
correct answer. 
  
Defining Musical Elements and Knowing How to Write Them into a
Score
 Now that students have tried to define the musical elements as
a class. The teacher will go through one-by-one giving the
correct definition. 
 The teacher will show students how to write the musical
elements into a score. 
 Students will practise as a class placing musical elements into a
score (How Great Thou Art and Amazing Grace) (Sheet music is
at the end of this document).  
o Project onto white board, give students a handout of the
scores. 

Identifying Musical Elements in a Song


 The teacher will play a song of their choosing or ones we have
listed below and students will need to listen for the musical
elements they covered.
